Tesla Roadster feels right at home in Florida
It was a dark and stormy night in South Florida on Thursday December 17th when Tesla opened the doors for a glimpse of its newest store. Despite a tornado warning and flash flooding that topped a foot of water, Roadster owners and enthusiasts, policymakers, and journalists welcomed Tesla to the Sunshine State. Over thirty Roadsters already call Florida home and the area was abuzz with the news. With its combination of enthusiasm for automobiles, temperate (if unpredictable) weather, and environmental awareness, South Florida is a natural home for the most exciting car on the road.
Vanity Fair compared driving the Tesla Roadster to riding a roller coaster, so it is fitting that the new store, located on 95N between Miami and Ft. Lauderdale, is across the freeway from the Dania Beach Hurricane and down the road from Dania Jai-Alai the "fastest sport in the world." The store is also the newest regional hub for Tesla’s pioneering mobile service squad. Professional technicians known as Tesla Rangers will travel throughout the Southeast to customers’ homes and perform annual inspections, firmware upgrades and other services. Tesla is the only automaker offering "house calls" so all customers can enjoy service from their home or office.
US Roadster customers get a $7,500 federal tax credit and Florida owners are able to use carpool lanes during rush-hour if they replace their gas guzzler with an electric, zero-emission vehicle as well as benefit from a 10 percent “alternative fuel vehicle discount” from Farmers Insurance.
Tesla's South Florida store is located at 1949 Tigertail Boulevard in Dania Beach. Call now for a test drive: (754) 816-3069.
