If you are thread starter you can edit that message, other messages cannot be edited now. Edit-button in one of the most requested feature here. I hope that that appears once they get the "upgrades" made.

The latest 30 topics are spam and robo-garbage. Your filters are totally busted.

And many of them are from the same poster.

I'm not even reading most of them. The topic titles show they are spam. But it's still a pain to scroll down a long list to see what is worth reading, and I read virtually everything I consider a legitimate post.

For the love of sanity, get rid of the spam!!!!!!

At least block everything from zeseSoype. And delete all the spam too, so it isn't cluttering up the site.

Note: There was a short story in Analog several months ago in the "Probability Zero" for that month. I'm beginning to think the punishment suggested there is appropriate, although that feature is normally written in jest.

There has been a great deal of SPAM and other garbage posted here lately. What can we do about it. I've flagged a number of posts as inappropriate, but what happens when that's been done. I've seen no evidence that any of it is blocked.

How do we keep the spammers from getting access to making posts?

I think when you flag a post, they eventually delete it. But this is obviously a low-budget chat board with very basic software. They probably have one admin who has other duties which are higher priority.

When I have serious questions, or want to find information, I go to the Tesla Motors Club chat board (not run by Tesla).

Tesla gives us this board as a freebie, but it's clearly not intended to be a full-on BBS. I come here for informal chat. I think we are expecting too much if we expect this board to be run with the attention that hobbyist boards like Tesla Motors Club or Prius Chat get. Those are ad-supported money-making operations with dedicated mods who are enthusiasts. This is a company board that is not trying to compete with those.

This is getting ridiculous! Maybe Tesla needs to hire a board admin with some knowledge of board administration.

I'll bet they could get one of the existing myriad of well-run chat boards to take this one on as a side project, using up-to-date software and security techniques.

It wouldn't surprise me if this board is using home-brew software without much in the way of security at all. It's a pretty bare-bones set-up.

Okay. I'm done with this board. They can't even ban the spammers. Same spammers day after day and they're not even stopping them from re-posting.

I'm taking this chat board out of my bookmarks folder. I'm done posting here. I'll be over at the Tesla Motors Club chat board.

I'm to the point where don't even look at a thread unless I see a name I recognize. 99% (maybe slight exaggeration) postings are spam or just garbage.

The spam flood has driven me to teslamotorsclub, too. cya.
