Winter wheels? Option flexibilty may help!

I recently have been trying to figure out what I'm going to do come next winter. As I live in Canada I've got a real big issue when it comes to my model S's arrival early next winter. My wife, soon baby and I will be optioning out a Performance Model S. The problem I have is with tires and wheels. The standard issue tires on the 21" wheels will probably be a significant hazard for all of us next winter even with the Traction Control, in the Toronto area of Ontario. What I am hoping for is that Tesla will continue being ahead of the Automotive world and allow its customers the ability to alter options.
Here's what I propose. Dont worry im not going to ask for an espresso maker! Give the customer the option of which wheels and tires I want my Model S to come with. This also comes with any rebate if the option price is less than the Standard package deal.
In particular the performance S comes with performance tires on the 21" wheels. I suggest give us the choice of the 19" wheels with all-weather tires so that we winter warriors can purchase winter snow tires or at least attempt the first winter with the all weather tires on the 19". Also to rebate the performance wheel option costs back to the customers.
I have researched this with Tesla representatives. The 19" wheels can handle the torque from the performance S and since the vehicles are optioned prior to vehicle builds inventory and purchasing issues should not be a factor in giving customers this level of choice.
Snow tires are mandatory in Quebec and may soon become mandatory in many other provinces.
The other need for this is that purchasing after market wheels with snow tires isn't an option since there are no wheel manufacturers that have made wheels that can take the torque from the model S. So customers are required to keep their Tesla wheels.

Please help us little people who love this company and eagerly await the arrivals of many great things in 2012!

this is what i was told when discussing the winter tire issue with my customer advocate (seeing as the deivlery dates would happen close to or during the winter months when they are mandated here in Quebec) ...

"We will offer further info on winter tire options as we get closer to deliveries, and are aware that the car cannot be delivered without winter tires in Quebec."

"there are no wheel manufacturers that have made wheels that can take the torque from the model S"

I'd like to learn more about this if you have any useful links to provide.

I hope to buy the 19 inch wheels without tires unless Tesla offers the best winter tires made. I don't want to have an accident. I will probably use the turbine wheels during summer.

btw, I checked carefully on the 19" rims on the beta demonstrator in DC -- the rims do not extend past the tire. It's really close, but the rims definitely do not extend beyond the tire.

Good news on the rim depth!

Definitely a bonus!

I hope the same is true of the aeros.... no way to know yet, obviously.
