and the end of the vid is a little disturbing... there's a feel, that the E63 starts to fly by. Everything above 100MPH is difficult. Tesla needs a 2nd gear for the german market

Whity - From my perspective, the MS is coming up quickly on a stopped car and takes the foot off the gas - I think you can sense the MS is slowing down rather than the Merc gaining with the MS at constant speed.

Actually if you watch the video again, the Model S is braking after reaching 110mph (the race was from 0-110). However, no doubt, the Merc will win a top speed shootout.

Note that at the end the brake light came on- Tesla was in regen mode already. So, Tesla was slowing down faster- not Merc gaining.

Yes, the MS slowed down to make the Merc feel better.

Do the MS's brake lights come on when you lift in standard regen mode?

Just curious as I've seen it said that the standard regen offers quite a bit of slowing all by itself.

@goneskiian - yes, the brake lights come on when there is enough deceleration, even when you are not pressing the brake. Sometime people following you think you are riding the brake when you're not even touching it.
