Track Behind Fremont Factory

I've driven by the factory a few times and noticed people driving their model s on the banked track behind the factory. It seems no matter what time I drive by or how bad it's raining their are cars taking laps.

Any ideas what this is for, are they testing each car outside before delivering or are these owners taking it for fun before going home?

Probably some durability tests made by Tesla in order to figure out what might go wrong before it goes wrong to someone that bought Model S. Might also be some new parts tested. Who knows. You can never be "done" with testing, you can only reach "good enough" and then release.

I think they might be production cars going through final tests before delivery, anybody know for sure?

Thought those tests were done inside the factory.

Track inside the factory is only about 200 yards total. Lots of bumps etc. They could not possibly put 20 or 50 miles on each car on the inside track.

That's what I suspected, all those model s I keep seeing on the track are cars that are going through final testing.

I'll see if I can take a few snaps to post

How do I get that job? :) On my to do list for the day, drive these 20 model S' for about 40 Miles each on the test track, be sure they perform as expected!! :D
