Trunk, rear facing seats and backing into garage

Was wondering how the trunk opens up in terms of clearance when backing into a garage. I imagine there will be about 6 inches between the back bumper and my garage wall when I back in. Will I still be able to open the trunk without it hitting the wall? Has anybody tried strapping in kids to rear facing seats with this little clearance?

It looks from the pictures that the trunk opens up so I'm wondering if it doesn't need extra clearance. Getting my kids in might be a challenge without opening the garage door first and pulling up. Just wondering what other people's experiences are.

Thanks.

Yes, you will be able to open the trunk with no problems. If you need to help strap your kids in, that may be tough however.

I step into the trunk and sit on the edge while I strap in the kids. It'll likely work for you.

That said, one child has now developed a strong tendency to get ill while rear-facing, so we're struggling. YMMV.

I don't have any problem at all getting my kids in. You can adjust the door to how high you want it. But although I have plenty of room in the garage, the first thing I do when I come into the garage is open the garage door so I have more natural light to see.

It just works better that way but no problems at all with door hitting the garage door. The kids LOVE the jump seat. Especially now that I tinted it with 15 level tint and bought two small battery operated fans from Amazon.com

I just measured my car in the garage. From the back bumper to the door I have 20.5". When I opened the trunk and held it at the point where it *seemed* closest to the door, the distance was 14.5"...So right around 6 inches and probably cutting it a little close.

Would it make more sense to pull into the garage head first so you can have extra room facing the open garage door to load the kids?

What is the rationale for backing into the garage with minimal space to load the kids?

Charging, presumably.
