Seatbelt comfort

Has anyone else noticed that the driver seatbelt gets a bit tight across your lap/stomach? There's no height adjustment and I assume this is partially due to me being a bit taller (about 6'3") and was wondering if anyone has figured out a way to make it a bit more comfortable?

My wife, who is 5'6", finds that belt to be very uncomfortable. It cuts into her shoulder. Would be nice it it were height adjustable.

I'm quite short, and the tightness seems to be--for me--a result of aggressive acceleration/deceleration/handling causing the seatbelt to repeatedly lock. I'm not saying I do those things, but yeah...

I'm 6'3" and 310# and have never noticed the seat belt to be particularly good or bad. Seems to be fine. Way better than the one on the Inifiniti convertible. But to be fair, that car has no B pillar to hang it from.

We noticed some seatbelt issues as well.

Several weeks ago, I moved my driver seat forward and the seatbelt seemed tighter and less comfortable. But since then, either it has loosened up or I've become used to it. In any csse, it no longer bothers me.

My seatbelt is fine.

My seatbelt is a bit uncomfortable since the clip above the buckle rubs the right side of my body. It could be because I keep the seat set fairly low (since the buckle is lower if the seat is raised), however I have never experienced this problem in other cars.

I do find the seatbelt uncomfortable as well and I am not that tall 5'10. I thought it because the buckle was higher, it does not allow as much slack as standard cars.

Which is why they added Slacker ;p

Tilt the seat back a little, much more comfortable on the shoulder. I'm 6'8".

Noticed that the back seat belt clamped me in like a vice.... very uncomfortable and could only fix it by releasing it and re fastening.
However, the front seat seems fine and I am 6'-4".

I find the seat belts disturbingly uncomfortable! I am 5'9" and the seat belt cuts right across my neck.this applies to either front seat. Every car I have owned, mostly Lexus, have been adjustable where the seat belt comes out of the side of the car. The adjustment is a few inches up or down,just enough to get the belt off my neck,

I also have the problem, intermittently, where the belt locks up with no braking at all. It gets tight against my chest and will tighten more if I shift my weight. The only solution I have found is to unbuckle and start over again.

Seatbelt comfort is fine for me but if they can add the height adjustment that will solve a lot of complaints. Likewise, the head rest.

I am 5'8" & have had a lot of problem finding a seat position that gets the belt off my neck. Fortunately, there is enough head room to allow you to raise the seat until the proper crossing point is achieved. Disappointing my $25K Honda Civic has a B column adjustment but not my pricey Tesla S ride. Still, I love my car. Turkeys be warned.

I'm 5' 7" and yes, it pulls too tight across the stomach for some reason. Like it pulls tighter than other belts do. Or where other belts find a "set" point, this continues to tighten at every shift so over the course of a drive it gets too tight. Definitely noticed it.

I think there is a fix for progressive tightening. Check with your SC.

I'm 5' 9". The very first thing I noticed once seated for my test drive was that the seatbelt cut uncomfortably across my neck and was not height-adjustable. I'd prefer to sit lower, but will have my seat higher to help avoid the uncomfortable position.

Does anyone know of a nice black wrap that could go around the belt to cushion it?

My son complains about the back seat seat belts. Maybe I'll have to try a test drive myself to see what the issue is. In the meantime, that Tiddy Bear looks like a great idea. They are still selling them at www.tiddybear.tv. Love the informercial :-)

I did a test drive yesterday, and I was ready to switch my Model X order to a Model S if I fell in love. By the time I'd buckled the seat belt in the parking lot, I'd already concluded that my dream car is not for me. Hard to believe that a $100k car lacks an ergonomic adjustment that comes standard in a Honda Civic. That seat belt cut into my neck, which is simply unacceptable.

My 91 year old mother in law complained about the rear seat belt tightening and holding her hostage - turns out she was pulling the belt out to full extension to make it easier to engage - when that happens it retracts to the max and locks - Tesla service explained the problem - now solved - don't pull out to full extension

I use this product and have for years, it prevents the belt from killing you ( I'm not a small guy ) but allows the seat belt to do its job in emergency

I bet the bears would look good dyed black, too!

I have had no trouble with the seat belts, nor have any of my passengers complained.

5K miles, no issues with the belts. Haven't used the back ones much tho.

High expectations are more easily undermined than low ones. Tesla knows this and has done a marvelous job by designing a car that the enthusiast magazines will love. Performance and handling are competitive with high end sports sedans and come with green credentials and cutting-edge tech credibility. It's a hot commodity and rightfully so.

In daily driving, however, rapid acceleration and sporty cornering will take second place to more practical concerns and creature comforts - all of which have long been hallmarks of the competition. I'm reminded of an old Jag ad that said something like "0 to 60 in 5.6 seconds. Now let's talk about the rest of the ride." Power matters, but not enough to strap me into a 'Vette for a long cross-country drive. Minor discomforts are like little squeaks that, once you've tuned into them, can impossible to ignore.

Tweaks and improvements will no doubt be addressed as rolling updates to this very successful platform. I look forward to adjustable shoulder belt height just as some hope for parking assist, various electronics and sound options, solutions for carrying sporting equipment on the Model X, and the countless other personal preferences that people bring to the luxury product market.

I'm 5' tall and have the seat way down. For the first month or so, the seatbelt bothered me enough to make me pull my jacket collar over the seatbelt. I must have gotten used to it because it hasn't bothered me for the last month or so.

I have no experience with the backseat belts but my 9-year old who still uses a booster seat in the Sienna and Camry feels that the MS seatbelt is more comfortable without a booster.
