Tesla Model S = the best-selling car in Norway!

With a market share of 6.1% it out-sold the VW Golf (4,9%) and the Mazda CX-4 (4,2%) for the period 01.09 - 09.09.

That is pretty amazing! :-) Congratulations Tesla!

You see the time from 2am to 5 am that is when rates go negative.

Benz until a week ago they used to go a lot more negative until we started paying wind and Nuclear "not" to produce.

@Volleyguy

I just got a great idea. Very simpel and effective (I think).

Tell your government to make a deal with Tesla Motors for 1,000 Model Ses (you just might get some discount). The people who cannot afford to buy a Model S, then could get a chance to rent a Model S from your government at a very cheap rate, because there will not be any profit making involved. Everybody happy (I think).

Tell me what you think of my idea.

@Volleyguy

Instead of paying the US to take your electricity, your government should better invest all that money in buying a large number of Tesla Model Ses (at least 1,000) and let the people use these Tesla Model Ses for a real cheap price. So, instead of giving the money to the US, they better give it to their own inhabitants, let them enjoy the benefit. That's the bottom line of my idea.

Heck, why not buy 10,000 Tesla Model Ses (this will surely give your government a much higher discount)?

Will there be an article about the number of Tesla Model S registrations in Norway in the third week of September as well (just like the first and second week of September)?

Bump

Not yet, but maybe you will enjoy his while you wait:

Here's a linked article about using the 2-person Think as taxis in Oslo: http://elbil.no/elbilfakta/okonomi/320-to-ar-med-eltaxi.

They mention some fares appreciate the excuse to ditch a clingy Insignificant Other at the end of a date!

Just like in the past two weeks, I expect to see in the coming few days an article about the sales figures of the third week of September 2013. Please post them in this thread again. Thanks

Bump

I would also be interested to see last week numbers if any of our Norwegians friends happen to come across the registrations stats.

@Fredlambert

Last week we saw that the weekly sales figures in Norway were posted on Tuesday. So, maybe we will see some news tomorrow?

No news article yet.

@benz let's hope so.

No news has been posted yet, but I would guess that at least 150 more Model Ses were registered in Norway in the third week of September.

At the rate of 150 Model S deliveries per week in Norway, most of the Norwegian reservations back-log will have been delivered before the start of 2014, I think.

It will be very interesting to see how this goes. Lets just hope the politicians keep their cool and keep'em free of taxes for many years still to come! If they do we will be the 1st country in the world with more EV than ICE cars... I see even "worker cars" (small vans) are coming as EVs now...

Btw I must say I like the glass wall in the Tesla store where you can see into the workshop. Looks like a mint Ferrari workshop, cool! :-)

No news yet about the Tesla Model S sales figures in the third week of September in Norway.

Monthly registration figures of several models will be revealed in the first/second week of October.

@Benz
News sells only ones or twise... 3 times NO! (Report 1 week and 2 week... 3 week it is no news.)

@Julius

Please allow me to disagree with you on this. News is subjective to us all (any news). Meaning that each person must deside for himself or herself if something should be considered as news or not.

By the way, soon we will see the monthly sales figures of September 2013. Now that is really going to be some good news. You can bet on it.

Benz: I heard Tesla are getting 100-150 new order per week in Norway now so I don't expect to see the backlog disappear any time soon.

Tomorrow or the day after we will get the monthly sales figures.

@jkirkbo

Wow, that is a huge number of new orders per week in Norway. That would mean that the annual sales figure of the Tesla Model S in Norway will be more than 5,000 !!!

Are you sure that it's 100-150 new orders per WEEK (maybe it's per month). Check again please.

You can share any news you find in the media regarding the Tesla Model S here in this thread.

Well it took only 2 weeks, but here in Estonia the Model S being best selling car in Norway for the first two weeks broke the news as well finally yesterday. There are a ton of naysayers in the comments section of course, but also some people are surprised how good the car looks and want it. I've tried to defend Tesla honors by refuting myths (battery life, winter driving etc) without actually having gotten my own MS and giving helpful hints to those interested in how I bought mine (well ordered anyway, still waiting for delivery). I'll report anything new, but I think we'll hear from the Norwegians weeks before news here picks it up ;)

Totalts for september car registrations in Norway is published.
With the 160(?) or so Teslas registered in August Tesla has delivered almost all of the 800 Elon said in las Quartely presentation they expected to deliver in Norway in all of 2013. As I suspected this was a gross understatement aimed at keeping down the expectations prior to next Quarterly report. Further Tesla has opened a second store in Oslo! Reservations are minimum 100 per week according to a rep...

I sold my stock yesterday - maybe too soon?

1. Tesla Model S: 616 cars, 5,1 prosent

2. Volkswagen Golf: 561 cars, 4,6 prosent

3. Toyota Auris: 511 cars, 4,2 prosent

4. Skoda Octavia: 444 cars, 3,6 prosent

5. Mazda CX-5: 421 cars, 3,5 prosent

6. Volvo V40: 373 cars, 3,1 prosent

7. Nissan Leaf: 349 cars, 2,9 prosent

8. Toyota RAV4: 312 cars, 2,6 prosent

9. Toyota Yaris: 297 cars, 2,4 prosent

10. Volkswagen Tiguan: 294 cars, 2,4 prosent

@petmoell

Great news, thanks for posting. What is the source of this info? Any link?

@petmoell: definitely sold too soon :) I'd have waited at least past the Q3 earnings call in early November as TSLA will rocket past 200 then for sure. But you can still get back in :p
