We did this with the Roadster. What vanity plates are people ordering for the Model S? My Roadster is IL – FUELESS as a play on all the people that told me I was foolish for buying the car. Haven't picked one for the S yet. Share yours here.
@lightly: I don't get it. Sorry.
@EdG 1.21 Gigawatts.......Doc Brown. Back to the Future.
Does anyone have a good design idea for how to mount a front license plate. In California they love to hand out fix it tickets...
Mine contains a tip of the hat to Doc and Marty as well: "OUTAGAS".
Your delivery specialist will do that for you.
I know some people would prefer not to have it most of the time, but if you park at LAX without one, expect a ticket. For special cases like that I'm thinking epoxy some rare earth magnets to a license plate holder and corresponding ones on the inside of the car nose, so you can park at the airport, pop the frunk, and put the plate in place.
@JakeP; Too bad we still need roads...
@Timo; No, it's not. After a multi-vehicle smash-up: "It's raining cars!"
No, thankyewverrahmuch. Keep all them ijits on the roadways.
WOW - California has so many extra character available. I'm in Texas and picked TXSLA. TESLA is taken and there are a lot of companies with names combining Texas and Louisiana (e.g., TXLA was taken). Since I'm an oil brat I was thinking about something more cheeky, but decided against it. My other car has the plate SESEED, but I've only gotten one negative reaction. A lot of people take pictures of my plate with their cell phones.
Lynn; Dang separatist! ;)
Go phonetic: TZLA or TEZLA
If I was a meaner person I would put on the plate how I feel my purchase of a Tesla speaks for itself:
I will probably go with something more obscure, personal, and less offensive... but secretly I would love that plate on a smokin' electric car
Apologies to those who live in Detroit.
Wow. Let's all pause for a spell to ponder the poetry of this irony.
"Texas oil brat buys gas-free electric car made in California, and struts it with vanity plates."
I like to think its because it's simply a better car. We're really watching history unfold each day now.
Profits earned by hard-working energy entrepreneurs are buying a shiny new future. How cool is that?
Americans have always come together through innovation.
I love our country!
I applied for KICKGAS in Colorado, but DMV rejected it as "offensive." :(
Interesting, I saw it on a converted truck in VA, no prob.
I know KICKGAS exists in other states, which I mentioned in my application to CO DMV, but it apparently did not sway them. I was thinking of reapplying, with the hope someone else processes my application.
Mine is KCK GAS (no eye) in MD.
I should try KCK GAS, too. thanks
@firstname.lastname@example.org | OCTOBER 2, 2012: I applied for KICKGAS in Colorado, but DMV rejected it as "offensive." :(
I have a friend here in Tucson who has KICKCO2 for his Prius. Not the same as KICKGAS, but somewhat in the same vane.
Just reserved mine in CA
E*MC2F1 at the DMV waiting for the car... the star is a symbol available in California for kiddie plates, which allows several symbols, like a hand, star
probably too geeky, nothing to do with gas, fuel, but about light and speed, I am not a physicist but play with light, which is pretty close to electricity in my twisted thinking F1 instead of F64
NoMoGas in the state of Missouri.
In California I was able to purchase "
" custom plates without having the VIN#.
My proposed delivery date is December 20 2012.
We'll see if that happens!
I saw my first Tesla in the wild yesterday! Who has a black Roadster with the plate LLCTRC (I think)?
Saw it at the Edwards MarqE Houston parking lot last night around 8pm. We were surprised to see the top wide open :)
Just got NEED KWH in California. Passed on LOVE KWH, GOT KWH, GO4 FREE.
Just approved for TESLA S in n.j. Believe I'm first, much less demand than Cali lol...
TESLAS1 in Cali
Tesla s. boring but 1st in n.j.
I bet there is going to be a run on "LOSER" plates.
How about: mtcoty?
