Please use this forum topic to share your ideas for new website features or to let Tesla know if you find a bug. Thanks!
Few Suggestions:
1) Give us capability to format our posts on the forum. Right now everything ends up as 1 big paragraph.
2) Tesla should post up more images and videos to keep us Tesla fans hungry for more... gotta market the upcoming car!
TslaFan;
Basic HTML works, it seems. I've checked <p>, <br> <b> and <i> so far.

Navigation hint (works only on 1-page topics, where the 'New' flag isn't erased.) HINT, HINT!!
Do a Ctrl-F search for 'New', and leave it in place as you navigate. Next will then jump you directly to the first fresh comment.
Tesla Roadster status update glitch(question for Tesla rep.)
On Sept.10th,2010, we ordered the 2.5 Roadster.
We were directed to the newly created functionality site in the owners area of the website that, each time one logs on, allows you to see the exact status of your roadster as it goes through production.
On October 25th the first change in status report was that production has started and our roadster was in step 1, painting of parts(panels).
Ten days later I questioned a Tesla rep.,as to what step was actually #1/ the chassis building or painting of panels.
At that point(Nov.3rd), I was informed the roadster had already completed step 2, construction of chassis and was in step 3, and going to step 4.
After further questioning of the steps, the team leader stated she would correct the status update.
That did not happen as the status went from step 1 to step 2, where it is as of this writing on 11/7/2010.
The roadster, I was told by e-mail should be in step four.
Step 3 is body assembly and step 4 is "test and final inspection at Hethel".
From Hethel the roadster is air freighted to U.S.,step 5, and Menlo Park for step 6, final assembly.
Step 7 is pre-deliverly inspection and finally, step 8 is deliverly to owner.
I have now received documents for final payment of purchase( dated to be on Nov.30th. as date of purchase/ aquired) and deliverly is set for Dec.4th.
Now according to the owners status update the roadster is still in step 2, chassis construction, and we are 23 days from deliverly of roaster.
My point is:
If Tesla is going to have a informative and interacting web site for owners to follow the progress of their investment in Tesla products, which I feel is an unique approach to marketing, then it should be maintained and communicated to Tesla customers on a timely basis.
I can only hope the experience of owning a Tesla Roadster proves much more exciting than buying one !
My experience with my sales rep., whom I meet in Boulder,Co.,Erich Ziegler who gave us our first test ride in a roadster while we were on vacation in Boulder, has been the most impressive part of this journey.
He has consistently followed through with anything I have questioned him on or discussed with intergity.
The other member of this team Ted Merendino has also been informative with the proper steps along the production road.
Our hope is that this information will assist Tesla to provide a more informative and accurate status production web site for future Tesla owners.

Please update the forum to allow simple paragraph spacing. I know it can be done with html tags and it's easy to do but not obvious to everyone who posts here.
I agree with the above post too. The information provided on the order page shouldn't be over a day old. Some people have received their cars and it still says 'scheduled to build'
Website seems to be currently working a bit automatic mode. Forum posts don't get moderated, webarchive.teslamotors.com has been down for several days now (if you go to look at any of the older blogs, you don't get any pictures), and basically there seem to be lapse of maintaining this place. No new blogs for months now, no news no anything.
It is a bit scary, like if this place is dying out. It gives me a feeling that everything is not right in Teslamotors as a company.
I'm getting really fed up with the behavior of the website on long threads... having to scroll down to the bottom, then go to the last page of that, then scroll to the bottom again, then have to remember how many of the posts were new because the "new" tags have all disappeared.
Note that the very last message on the first page, posted by Douglas3 on August 25th, complained about this very thing. But the problem has become worse, because people keep adding to the most popular threads, so they get longer, and eventually become multi-page.
So I have a simple suggestion: if you can't just fix it, why not at least make the pages a lot longer... like 1000 messages or 10000 lines or something? Then when a thread becomes multi-page and it still isn't fixed, I'll just give up and stop visiting.
Seriously, Greg.
Or most-recent-at-top (first page) ...
This is an update to my previous post on Nov.7th,2010 @ 0950.
(Fourth reply above)
Telsa personnel must be listing for the production status area in the owners page has caught up with the actual production step of our Tesla Roaster.
We wish to say thanks to Ted Merendino and Erich Ziegler for their continuing support in our ownership journey with the Tesla Motor Corp.
What normally happens during the purchase of a product( good or bad),is what one can expect going forward in ownership of that product.
Thanks,

Forum threads with multiple pages don't get you to new message by clicking "new messages". Also "new" tag is missing from those posts.
Older blog posts don't work as intended, http://www.teslamotors.com/blog/roadster-efficiency-and-range doesn't show charts unless you are lucky with reloads.
European content of Roadster spec doesn't include 100000mile battery durability. Old (possibly outdated) Roadster FAQ is missing from entire site.

Sometimes new messages don't get visible indication in main discussion screen. When you go to look at those groups there are new messages, even that main window doesn't show any.
can't post new topics in forums
Hey, they finally fixed it! The "new" link jumps directly to new messages on threads that are longer than one page! Thanks, webmaster.
Seem to be that most (if not all) forum-specific problems have been resolved. Also older blogs seem to work again, so that has been resolved. What is left is add missing Roadster FAQ (maybe even that downloadable owners manual) and some other tweaks here and there to get it to same level that the old one was.
Besides of bugs in website, I hope that also news, new blogs and stuff like that would be a bit more frequent here. For example we haven't heard anything from executive staff for a long long time. Couple of years ago it wasn't uncommon to get some posts from engineering staff here. Now if I want to read news about Tesla motors I need to go elsewhere to find them.
I would love to see a number count on the main page for Roadsters delivered and total cars ordered. Can we have more pictures on the site other than in Gallery?
Hi All,
As Steve and Timo quickly figured out, we released fixes to the website, and specifically to the forums, yesterday. To avoid scrolling to the bottom of each page, we've added pagination links below the first post in a thread. URLs link automatically and line breaks are rendered.
Importantly, the "new" flag works properly for multi-page threads.
The site now features drop-down navigation enabling you to jump directly into the section you're interested in reading.
We constantly update the teslamotors.com site, though enhancements are not always public-facing. Please continue to let us know of bugs and suggested enhancements in this forum thread.
Thanks,
The Tesla Web Team
Thank you, Tesla Web Team. I love the website and I like how you accept requests for website improvement. I noticed that only small companies offer this kind of service. Thanks again.
God Bless!
Yes ... thanks for "continuous improvement"
However, the "NEW" red flag is *NOT* fixed for me. I had to login again this morning, anbd upon visiting any multi-page thread, the "NEW" flag on the latest posts was NOT present. Using IE8 on Win7x64.
( If you see multiple paragraphs above with line breaks ... at least I did not have to use
or
anymore :-) )
( oops ... should have anticipate that ! The "p" in angle-brackets and "br" in angle-brackets still works; they are just unnecessary from now on. So what I was trying to say ... I don't have to use them anymore (and I should have not actually inserted them in the last parenthetical sentence in my post above. LOL !! )
Yay! Thanks for listening (finally :-) ).
Greg.
Georg, they put in a special check for your address to retain the previous broken behavior. :-)
Steve, yup. That must be it. Because it's doing it in FF3.6.12 too ... err, I mean it's NOT doing it (the red NEW on multi-page threads). (BTW, had a very quick response via email from Tesla's web development team. That's some nice customer service! We're working on it.)
Georg;
I detect that you're being doubly negative.
(Which means, of course, that you end up being positive. See how it all works out?)
;)
"Importantly, the "new" flag works properly for multi-page threads. " Not true. When I go to "Last" there are no flagged posts.
Also, something is blooey with the "Back to ..." buttons. When in "Model S" it offers only "Back to Tesla Roadster", etc. I think it may change when a post is entered. Etc.
Yes, before I made that post above, the "Back to ..." said "Roadster". It now says "General Discussions". There's some kind of memory of previous/most recent posting location that gets stuck in your buffer.
So far, I haven't had any problems with this website. Could it be that I have a Mac or does this have nothing to do with it?
This is a huge improvement. It looks to me like the number of postings is up since the changes were made. Not surprising - those little changes made the forums much nicer to use.
Can we get a search field? Navigating around these forums without one is too slow. If there is one, sorry, I can't find it, so the comment would be to make it easier to find. Thanks!
would it be possible to get at "< BACK TO XXX DISCUSSIONS" in the bottom part of the window
so we dont have to scroll all the way to the top
The "New" functions are #2#(*$'d up again. The last one or two don't always clear when I read them. I even tried logout/login to help the script along, but no dice. In the Model S thread, it's registering NEW entries on some threads even when I was the last commenter!
And the "New" flag still doesn't work on anything except page 1.

Not sure if this has been talked about before but I am thinking about Elon's comment recently about the possibility of recharging the Model S faster than...
