Please use this forum topic to share your ideas for new website features or to let Tesla know if you find a bug. Thanks!
Forum new post count is again showing imaginary numbers. Also I'm again seeing "Clubs" below "Discussions" in main page.
Tesla, are you reading these and doing something to it? A fast comment that you are working on issue would make this feel a bit less like website is being neglected.
Hi All,
We're implementing some infrastructure upgrades to enhance the speed of our site around the world. Clearly, it's creating some very unsatisfactory results - we're working to fix these. Thanks for your patience.
Less than an hour, good response time guys : )
Any word on an edit function? My iPhone is becoming a real pain, with it's autocomplete & autocorrect.
Hi, I have massive trouble with my logged-in state. I tried different Browsers (Internet Explorer, Safari, Firefox, Chrome), even on different machines. I tried deleting all cookies from teslamotors.com, too. Also, I tried reloading the pages that hat problems.
Yet, the problem persists: Even when I am logged in, on some discussion pages I am not recognized as being logged-in, i.e., I cannot post. When I follow the "Login >" button, the login page says: "You are already logged in". When navigating back to the discussion page where I want to post, it still says "You must be logged in in order to post" (or similar). Sometimes, within the same multi-page thread, on some pages I can post and on others I cannot. It is as annoying as it sounds.
Moreover, Tesla's forum has always been a relatively slow website, but performance is consistently degrading further. It is not much fun browsing the forum if between every page load I can go to a different news page and read some article...

Sure, thanks for the info. Let's hope that my above post becomes obsolete once the "infrastructure upgrades" are complete.
Well, this login-problem Volker above explains render affected forum unusable, while previous problems were only annoyance. To me it is mainly Model S forum that has had most problems all of time and this time it is that login-problem. I hope this one gets fixed ASAP.
I am logged in, but the main forum page doesn't know it, and can't be convinced. All the individual sub-pages (General, Roadster, Model S) do notice and work fine.
Somewhere, a programmer is being seriously overpaid.
I found a way to convince it ... edit the address and change the http: to https: and voila. Curious thing is that not all pages require it.
At last! All the numbers and links work right. Whew!
I spoke (typed) too soon. Now the "New" count in Model S doesn't clear after reading the posts.
{Sigh}
Can we place a 1,2,3,4,5 next last at the top of the page as well?
Can it be easier to get to "new posts" on the forum?
when you are in a forum (i.e. http://www.teslamotors.com/forums/discussions/general) and there are new replies just click on the new in the replies column and it will take you directly there ...
Just in case you want to check old messages it makes sense to have that page list at the top too, so that you don't need to scroll to the bottom to get to last page.
Some Web designers are control freaks, and want you to go thru the site only a certain way. Note the absence of "Search". That can be bypassed, btw, by using "site:www.teslamotors.com " as a preface in any search engine. Less convenient, but functional.
I love the look of the site. I would just like to ask for two things:
1) A little more server horsepower / bandwidth as the site often seems to slow down
2) Allow for Edit on Forum topics.
I can't locate the "Battery Tech" thread. Anyone else having similar problem?
Yep. But I located it today.
Forum main page says that I'm not logged in. When I go to any specific thread it says I am logged in.
In addition to Timo's comment, it seems that according to the Discussions page listing the forums, the latest activity date and times are sometimes wrong. e.g., under General it indicates May 21, 2011 - 8:18 p.m.
I went back and checked after reading Timo's post.
Ya, the main page is b*&##$ed.
I hope the Model S software writers are better at their jobs than the ones assigned to this forum.
What bugs me most is speed of these forums. I have seen "amateur"-build much more active forums that doesn't have any more money than people are willing to give work like charm, while this is probably the slowest forum I have ever used.
I hope that these mentioned "infrastructure upgrades" give more speed here. Slow process though, considering that that post was made April 30 and it had been slow and buggy quite a while before.
Can the Lithium Titanate battery improve performance or reliability. As compared to the Lithium Ion battery. Presumably it can charge faster if sufficient power is available. It doesn't require any cooling, from what I read. It may be heavier for the same watt-hours. If that is the case, is it too much heavier? Or too much costlier? Also, can dual layer super capacitors have any utility in your cars?
For many years I have been in awe of the the Amazing Nikoli Tesla.
He was such an amazing man and gave so much to the world. He would be so proud of these cars. Nikoli was absolutely against the use of oil in cars saying that the environment would pay a huge price. How right he was and this was a hundred years ago. Bravo Tesla Motors

Victor and Tesla4, this particular topic is WEBSITE FEEDBACK. Find appropriate threads for your battery and Nikoli ramblings.
The top page still doesn't register login or show NEW indicators, even with the "https:" trick. The other topic top-pages are fine.
@Brian H, a hint: That "Discussions" text is a link. You get one step away from main page from that and from there "new" links seem to show correctly. Except that today they claim "1 new" for both General and Model S and both had several new posts.
At least it doesn't claim that you are not logged in there.
@Webmaster/moderator: any indication when these infrastructure changes get ready? Next year?
the "new" links will display correct number of messages only for logged in signature reservation holders.
the login status on the main forums page is currently in alpha test phase, with promising simulation results.
A working version will be released to all customers by mid 2012.
Now even that "Discussion" link doesn't work anymore. "new" -tags cannot be seen anywhere, because website claims that I'm not logged in in all relevant places (except in actual forum: general, roadster, models, tesla). Soon probably posting is broken too.
Can we get a "search" option?

I have heard there are places to plug in at San Jose airport while traveling. What about Oakland or San Francisco? Public lots or private lots?
