Breaking News!!!! Production Complete Yay..............

Breaking News!!!! My car is past conception and has been produced now. It is ready to be delivered or picked up. Yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 10-March is the day.

I hear it's a breech. C section? Congrats!!!! Cigars?

My car is due to be built, the week of 10 March. I assume your car's staus went from "sourcing parts", to "in production:, and then finally "ready for delivery"?

Only two weeks of anticipation and loss of sleep left - good luck with that! ;-)

Congrats!

Hi jordanrichard, It took less than 4 days from conception to delivery (24-Feb it went in factory and 27-Feb it is out and is ready for pick up). And yes it went through all those three states. It was in sourcing part for more than two months. I guess that is the longest wait. After that it begins to move quickly, Cheers, Amit

So finished it finished today and the delivery is on 10 Mar. How far from Freemont, CA are you?

I am in South Florida. Dania Beach, FL is my pick up location. Dania Beach is 20 miles from Miami and 5 miles from Ft. Lauderdale Airport.

I think they are doing production based on geographic locations. Bunch of florida cars went in production together (including some with higher VINs). I am hoping for my car to go in production next week for michigan deliver in on March 22nd. Aah! Wait is killing me...

Gdoc, interesting theory. It does seem that it would be more efficent to have "batches" established based on where they are going. This way the delivery trucks heading for say FL, get filled up quicker.

Also, if your car is due to be delivered on Mar 22., your DS should be able to tell you when it's due to do into production.

My VIN is 32897, CT, Mar 29th scheduled delivery. Though the car is actually due to arrive in CT on 26th. My DS, in calling me to set up a set date, gave me the choice of 27, 28, or 29. With the 29th being a Sat. I picked that.

Cars are batched by similar options. 60/85/P/P+ , color, air, leather, pano, etc.

A bunch of cars heading to FL together might just all be 85 trims with air and pano roof options and black/white/silver color.

Only thing really where we need to batch is color. Other things can be done for each car separately. Painting also takes most time. Now on TMC forum, there were reports from some owners saying that there delivery date was being pushed out. I reached out to my DS and she said that Florida deliveries are all unimpacted in March. This now leads me to believe that indeed they are batching on basis of geography to save on transport cost. So most Dania Beach deliveries will start from Fremont on the same day. This way truck need not stop at different locations but will come directly here. This is assuming that a location has so many orders. Dania Beach seems like a busy location though.

I can confirm that a TMC member in Florida with VIN higher than mine has his/her car go into production right after amit. I have been in touch with my DS and I was told that my car will complete production by the end of next week (currently still sourcing parts). That will still leave 2 weeks to get the car to Michigan. By the way, my VIN is 31864 and scheduled delivery date is March 22.

Gldoc: My VIN is 32064 so mine is also a higher VIN number than yours. It confirms your observation. Cheers, Amit

You beat me to production complete and I am 32029 :/. Considering we went to production the same day they must still be removing the extra cells from an S85 to make my S60.

The truck with my 30508 crossed into Colorado today. Will be at Denver Service Center tomorrow!! Red S85. Got word my check cleared a couple hours ago!!! I own a Tesla people.

What color is yours, Joe? What are the other options? Batteries are not built with the car. They are just used by the car. My feeling is that it is the color, which causes difference in time. I had visited factory on 13-Feb and they told me it takes 3-5 days to make a car. Mostly it is under 4. Majority time is painting and drying. I am sure by tomorrow, your's will also be saying "Hello World!!!" I guess real fun will start now. Cheers, Amit

@craig.weber, congratulations! Our blue S85 due March 8 in San Diego hasn't even gone into production....VIN 32723.

@sbeggs..production of the car only takes 3 days and they it is ready for delivery. So if you are in California, most likely your car will go in production next week and still should be delivered to you on March 8th.

@craig.weber: Congratulations!!! Enjoy the ride and post pictures. Wait seems like worth it...

Congrats amitb00!!!

Black/Black Leather, Twin Chargers, Tech, Air Suspension, Pano. I'm assuming it will be complete soon. Also I know they wouldn't make an 85kWh pack and then remove cells, just a sad attempt at some humor .

Mine is on the 3rd day of production. 32411.

Also remember to create a separate thread when you have access to the car via the smartphone app. ( <- another sad attempt at humor, but I am interest how soon you will be able to access it )

Hey Joe... Humor well taken about the battery. I just meant to say that it seems some parts are made not for the specific car and will be plugged into the car. For instance chargers, battery, screen etc. Some parts they will make for the specific car - primarily body parts. My color is same as yours so color theory has failed. Our configurations is very similar. I am taking rear seats though.
Be sure that any development in our car and all our forum friends will know about it. This is the place where we can freely talk about owning Tesla without being seen as crazy (even though we are) as we are all on the same boat.
I am curious when does your status change. BTW your ping caused me to check the status today. Cheers, Amit

Congrats all around on the successful birth of your baby!

Hi amitb00, congrats on your new model S, I am also picking up mine at Dania Beach the 10th of March so they most be in the same truck, mine is white S60, the wait for me was 3 months and my vin P30561 so you beat the clock. What time are you suppose to pick up yours?

Congrats mine is scheduled for March 15 Southern California delivery and it has not gone into production yet 32270. I am going nuts! I am sure mine is just about next in line. I keep going out to the garage and staring at the plug the electrician installed a month ago. I don't know how much longer I can hold on. Went to the store in San Diego several weeks ago just for another "test" drive.

Hi LuchoFC, my pick up is scheduled for 4 pm. What about yours? Please get your sun pass external and they will install behind nose cone. Amit

Mary;
Every time you get another "fix", the addiction gets more urgent. Stay away! ;)

I am picking up mine at 6 pm. and as drmarywilson I am going nuts too. What kind of sun pass do I have to get?

There is one known as external. If you call sunpass and tell them u want for Tesla, they will send to you. You need to do today as it will take few days to arrive. If you need more details let me know and I will post a link.
