New income source for Tesla

Have you noticed the rollover adds that now frequent our comments? Tesla must be getting some income from them.

Who's placing them? I have Ad-Block, so I see no ads, on any site.

No ads here either

dude you have ad-ware installed on your computer

Yeah, you have some sort of malware on your computer. Go install MSE *now*: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows/security-essentials-download

And if you want to avoid those problems in the future, either buy a Mac or switch to Linux.

Never seen any ads on my iPad or Mac for this site.

Yep, no adds for me either on my Mac laptop.

That's the Microsoft tax for all its users, not an income source for Tesla :)

Get a Mac or an iPad!

Hey I heard you could right-click on a Mac. Now that's exciting!

I'm running Windows on a PC and I have seen no ads.

Nicu;
I'm running on an older 3GHz badly converted PC workstation, and Ad-block FF addon keeps me ad-free.

evan;
(It's ads, btw, not "adds". Those are columns of numbers, if anything. Maybe extra stuff on a product. Not advertisements.)

Adwares are usually distributed by trojans, IE. they work like any other program and don't install unless you install them. There are no other reason that Windows have more of them than Mac or Linux than the fact that those two are still minority OS:s in home / corporate computers and nobody simply cares enough to make them. Looks like this wont change anytime soon. In case it changes you will start to see them in Macs and/or Linuxes as well.

I have no ads.
Sounds like something hijacked your computer.

Brian H, you misunderstand. You note that "adds" cannot refer to "advertisements" as that would be wrong, and of course, you are correct. So it must be something else, and obviously, it's "addicts"! evanstumpges essentially says that there are no addicts on his Mac. That's probably right, usually the Macs are on their addicts, and not vice versa, particularly the laptop variants.

I had a call yesterday from one of the directors here about links to external websites from our website, the issue was a toolbar install in her browser which added links to any webpage she view.
recommendation: drop windows or switch to chrome (anything but IE)

Chrome on Windoze - no ads.

VB;
Well, I'm a PC user who agrees that Macs are better. But I'm resisting so as to avoid those nasty addiction symptoms.

agree with Kal-el, you have installed a program (most likely a toolbar/search bar/smilies tool add on).
step 1, go into "control panel" and find "programs & features" - uninstall any program that is not dessired - e.g. google search bar, ask tool bar, smilies tool bar or what ever it is called.

step 2, open your IE explore go into "settings" -> "advanced" and select "reset settings" - you may select to keep personal settings.

if this does not help you have been hijacked... you could then try run msconfig and disable any startup program witch sounds suspesios.

last, Im not native english speeking, so sorry for the spellings, also notice, you may do these steps on your own risk :)
