New Year's Resolution
February 23, 2013
Cory Costanzo made a New Year's vow to improve his gas mileage with every new car. Since taking delivery of his Model S, he and his family have enjoyed life away from the gas pump.
Here’s his story:
My journey to Tesla started on December 31st, 2004, and because it was New Year’s Eve, I made a New Year’s Resolution that I was never going to buy another car that got worse gas mileage than the car I already owned.
Fast forward to 2011 and still the only car that I knew of that got better gas mileage than a Honda Civic was a Toyota Prius, and though I don’t have anything against the Prius, I had three kids and wanted a car that can fit three car seats in the backseat. I decided to look at the latest in electric cars and came across an article for a Tesla Model S, with a range of 300 miles, and seats seven people. That was the one that opened my eyes.
I put down my $5,000 deposit to get my name on the list and the car was delivered to Fresno during my lunch break at work. Everything that was promised has come to be and it’s just an amazing car.
