Guess who just called me?

Travis Willits, my DS who bounces around from Costa Mesa to Van Nuys just called me to give me the good news that my car should be ready for pick up on Saturday at 4:00. That's a mere 21 days from Sat, Aug 3rd when I finalized my order. My Tesla "Dashboard" still shows that the Tesla factory is building my MS.
Now that's great service, 3 weeks for a custom built car for factory to my garage.

Many have been pushed back weeks, after waiting 6 or 7 weeks. It sure seems random?

The build time differs with how the car is configured.

Regardless of the reason, congrats! Gonna be a tough 40ish hours...

Congratulations. Happy for you. Mine took a couple months from release of order to delivery. The wait was tough. I kept reminding myself that many before me had to wait 2 years (+).....that would have seemed like an eternity.

@CalabasasKid--Given how many people are on this forum complaining about having their deliveries getting pushed out (and on short notice), I think it's in a bit of poor taste to come out bragging about how quickly yours will be delivered given it's an exception: you had a VP move you up in production--which also means it bumped others back.

Just my two cents though. You and I went through the same things during the pricing changes and new options, but I'm still a few weeks out from delivery waiting patiently (or not so patiently).

All that said, I am happy for you and it's great that they were able to make it happen in time for your wife's birthday.

Are they running out of crazies like us?? So demand is dropping allowing quicker delivery time, or is CoreyM right. Is yours a P85.

@admjr I waited 5 yrs

Depending on the configuration (read 85s higher profir margin..out quicker) coupled with European deliveries the time between finalization and delivery can vary GREATLY.

Also, some people back out on their vehicles, change their mind, financing issues which leaves cars finished or near end of the line
that, if they have the same configuration as the one you signed up for, may be available almost immediately.

I had people with higher VINs or later finalization dates get their vehicles before mine.

We are lucky...people waited years for their cars. We are waiting extra days or weeks???

Calabasas: congrats on early delivery and don't worry about the complainers. You getting your car early is news for the board and should be shared!

Please let us know your build though. I ordered on same day and am looking at Sept 7th for delivery. Have a loaded P85+ coming. So it would be interesting to know your order specifics.

Thanks and have fun in your new baby!

Well CoreyM

At least you're still happy for me. Now I can go to bed in peace. Based on the feedback I've gotten on this site, people are very interested in hearing about various anomalies as they occur whether good or bad. I wasn't boasting and I'm fairly certain anyone who reads my original post will concur. I was essentially complimenting TM for getting me an S85 finalized, built and delivered to SoCal in exactly three weeks. My DS has been acting superbly on behalf of TM. I simply wanted everyone to know.

I just figured that we see some complaining on this site. It's nice to also post props to the hard workers at TM when they really come through.

Congrats Calabasas. I didn't take your post as bragging at all. Just exicted to be getting yours early.

I can't beleive that there would be anybody on these forums that would think that post was in poor taste because they are still waiting.

I ordered the exact same day as you and I get mine on the 19th of September. Whatever. The cards fall where the cards fall and I don't care if you made three calls to three Senior VPs and got your date pushed up. Good for you. You snooze you lose.

Basically I strongly dislike that victim mentality altogether.

Thanks Tommy

It'll be interesting to see if Corey apologizes, lol

Yes, I genuinely am happy for you and it is impressive that Tesla was able to accommodate you and get your car delivered in 3 weeks. And since it looks as though I'm the only one that interpreted it as bragging, my apologies. And it's probably only because I know you've posted before that you complained and had Jerome get your production moved up.

And actually, instead of an apology, I should thank you, because your "Congratulate me!" post is what finally convinced my wife to let me order my car on 7/31 instead of waiting until later this month.

I truly have no complaints about my delivery date (nor resent anyone getting theirs faster). If I really wanted the car earlier, I shouldn't have waited months before ordering--although that had more to do with convincing my wife.

If you're ever up in Seattle, drink's on me.

Oh, and I agree. I'd much rather see posts on people being excited taking delivery than complaining that their estimated deliveries are being moved out.

Apology accepted but I warn you, I have a hollow leg, lol. It's nice to see that people actually read my posts and remember what I said. While the accomplishment of getting delivery in three weeks is nice, it's also quite helpful seeing that we sold my wife's car off of Craigslist last weekend and have been sharing my car all week. I thought we were going to be stuck doing that all the way through Wednesday.
I haven't even gotten my solar contractor to install my NEMA plug yet. I thought I still had a few days.
Oh well. I guess if the 110 doesn't work for the time being, I can always drop the charger cable into my courtyard from the laundry room window upstairs where I have the heavy duty plug available and not being used (gas dryer).
Too bad on the drinks, I was in Seattle last August.

Congrats, CK!

Congrats! That's outstanding news. I hope mine arrives before my scheduled 9/20 date. I was told by the DM that they're "cautiously optimistic" that it could arrive a week earlier (S85 confirmed on 8/10). We sold my wife's car to CarMax last weekend so we're also a 1 car family at the moment. Very thankful for Boston's public transportation (MBTA) right now!

Classy post, Corey.

Congrats CK! I waited 1.5 years, but I've enjoyed mine for 6 months now.

Happy for you...and jealous as hell! :)

When I read the title, my first thought was "your Model S?"

If they could have an option where it called me and talked in KITT's voice I think I would pay extra for it.
