Blue speedometer looks like blue-high beams indicator

I wonder why the speedometer is in blue? At night while keeping my eyes on the road I see blue light on the dash with my peripheral vision and it makes me think that my high-beams are on which causes me to take my eyes off the road to investigate. I'm sure I will eventually get used to it but it is slightly annoying.

I think Tesla red would be a better color for the speedometer. It is the traditional color for most cars.

I noticed it the first few days, but I got used to it.

Blue is not a very comfortable color according to studies. That is why BMW uses light orange, which is supposed to be the most comfortable for night time driving. Infiniti used to use it too, not sure about others.

Customizeable skins, long promised by Tesla should take care of this issue...

Meh. It doesn't bother me. It looks cool.

olanmills +1

My daughter commented it reminded her of the movie "Tron"

Blue is more "in your face" for sure. My wife's VW is always jarring at night since I am used to my Audi. I am sure the Tesla will be weird too until I get used to the new color.

Just another disruptive Tesla change. *nod*

Red is more calming than light blue? About 99.9% of the medical literature would disagree with you.

Without getting too technical....

My 'Stang has blue nite instrument cluster and I prefer that to red or yellow: it shows up clear as a bell and doesn't give me any glare like red and yellow do.
