Gear For Model S

The floor mats are available for order again. They dropped the price of the frunk cargo net to $20.

@stevenmaifert@a... | JANUARY 6, 2013: The floor mats are available for order again.

Are you sure about that? It's still listed as TEMPORARILY OUT OF STOCK for me. I've cleared cookies and tried various browsers to be sure.

I think he just means, they are back in the store. The listing was removed for a while. But yes, they are still out of stock.

The floor mats must be a moving target. The red "TEMPORARILY OUT OF STOCK" wasn't there when I made the post earlier today :|

Yes the frunk is cheaper, but they still charge $14 for ground shipping (!!!) and somehow include around 15% tax, so that it ultimately comes to ~$37 for the cargo net. I wonder if they sell them in the stores - anyone know?

1. A friend and fellow S owner bought a frunk net at the Santana Row (San Jose) store.

2. Sure would like to have some fitted mats.

3. Has anyone deflated a tire and timed re-inflation using the available emergency tire repair kit? 12V pumps I've used in the past have taken forever.

Actually the only gear you will ever really need is located between the motor and the inverter at the rear axel.

I see the premium floor mats are back in the store again, along with the all weather frunk liner, and IN STOCK (for the moment). I almost ordered the frunk liner and an interior set of mats... but then when they wanted to charge $68 shipping, I decided I don't need them that badly. Maybe I'll wait to see if they have them at the store.

I guess I should have waited to see when they would appear at the physical store, but I ordered each set online as it became available and spent $84 total in shipping! Not a smart economic move, considering the mats are overpriced to begin with. Oh, and I haven't received anything yet. I would think with such high shipping charges they would ship immediately.

Agreed. The shipping cost is ridiculous. Also for those of us that have the jump seats we don't need the 2 piece trunk but just the footwell mat. They should try and sell that one separately.

The Interior Set of floor mats I ordered from the Tesla store arrived Tuesday. I'm no expert, but they do seem to be of good quality and the edge binding is very sturdy. The Tesla logo is a dull silver-grey and doesn't stand out as well as depicted on the Website.

Ordered the frank Lloyd ultimate for whole car, even front trunk and they couldn't be more perfect. Also found a 50 dollar discount code online so only ended up costing 300 for everything.

Lloyd Mats are custom fit for Model S and I'm very happy with the Ultimat in Linen color to match the tan leather. I got their RubberTite (clear color) for the rear cargo and frunk areas and those are great too! There are several online vendors and I used matmycar.com. Definitely cheaper than the Tesla Store and the only thing missing is the small Tesla logo.

I happened to be at the Fremont service center and picked up the $50 tire kit and $20 frunk cargo net and saved about $40 of shipping charges.

Jim-

Could you post a picture of the floormats if you have the time?

Thanks

@Jim2855 - did you just get fronts?

@Jim-

I meant to say please post a picture of the floormats IN the car. Pictures of the mats themselves are available on the Lloyd website.

Thanks

Ordered a full set of Lloyd Ultimat (32 OZ) through AutoAnything (http://www.autoanything.com/). Black Mats with Red Piping since the performance has red piping on the seats, and you can't get it without. Now I just need the car, and then all set. The mats seem to be great quality. I did not get the heaviest mat (40 OZ)as others have said its too thick overall. I believe with the 15% discount they offered, it came to about $230 delivered since they have free shipping. Enter "WELCOME15" at checkout for the discount.

forgive my ignorance...does the car come with floor mats, trunk liner and etc?

Does anyone know whether the "functional" stuff available via shop.teslamotors.com is or will be available via Tesla stores and/or service centers?

@rmbod, the cars are coming with "generic" front floor mats only (no Tesla logo). No rear mats, no trunk/frunk mats. There is some debate over whether the frunk cargo net is included... seems to have been included with Signature models.

Frunk cargo net is not included. I ordered it from Tesla and am bringing it to our pickup today at the factory.

I found some pretty neat replacement parts believe it or not from www.CarPartKings.com Got a discount code online for like 10% and was abel to save a couple bucks. Found a set of rotors and pads and was def cheaper than a replacement part direct.

Thanks, I'll save that link until I get about 150,000 miles on my Model S and maybe start thinking about brake pads. Our Prius has 100,000 miles and has about 1/3 of the original pad depth left, and that regen is only a fraction of what we have with the Model S.
