More Signature Editions?

Has anyone heard if Tesla will produce more Signature Edition Model S's?

If no further Signatures are in the plans does anyone know if Tesla plans on releasing a similarly refined version?

How are the Signatures more refined than the regular S's?

There are more options available on the S now than when the Sigs were made. Except for one paint color, an interior color option and the Sig badges.

You can still get on the list for a Signature X. ;-)

I'd certainly pay extra to get the Sig Red on a current production car.

I highly doubt there will be more Signature Model S cars. Besides the fact that all the options had changed, the point of the Signature was to get one of a select number of the first Model S vehicles. You actually paid a premium (eg, an equally tricked-out production car was 3000-5000 less depending on whether it was the performance model or not) with the only options the Model S had you couldn't get on a production car being the Signature Red paint and the white leather interior plus the "Signature" badge.

So I don't think Tesla will offer up later Signatures and "take away" from the Signatures that were meant to be the first cars produced (technically the 2nd cars after the Founders series).

+1 davidcjones - Much as I'd love to have the Sig red, it wouldn't be fair to the true sig owners for Tesla to sell more sigs. It's a badge of honor (paid for in cash and patience!).

I certainly understand that it's unlikely that they'd resurrect the Sig Red as a standard color, but if they did I'd buy one.

I do hope that Tesla introduces more interesting colors that have some depth and character like the Sig Red and the Brown. I'm just not a brown guy and the Sig Red isn't available.

Since I've been paying close attention to car colors lately, I'm amazed at how many nice rich colors Mercedes offers. I hope that Tesla picks up some of those gorgeous paints via their relationship with Mercedes.

Model X Sig?

GenIII Sig Red?
Wife wants the green when it comes out and I can't fault her.

Right hand drive markets and Europe will get sig red colors.

I wouldn't be surprised if sometime in the future, either with Model S, or some future model, if they had more trim packages that kind of mirror what other manufacturers do. I wouldn't be surprised if there was some kind of "high-end" vanity trim level that signified you got the most expensive version of the car, lol. So in that sense, yes, I do think there will be a 'Signature' version in the future, but it will have a different name.

Alex at the Van Nuys SC told me that Sigs were only the first 1000 cars and that Founder Editions were the first 100 cars. Hmm.

the whole point of the limited signature edition was the exclusitivity, otherwise why would people pay more for it?
so even though you can order most of the options now which were standard on the signature, you can't get the sig red, frankly, I love the sig red color and am happy to be one of the first people to support Tesla by ordering the signature edition and waited more than 2 years to get it, delivered last Oct.

We were at Buelton supercharger today, and there was a red one driven by a Tesla employee who was there to upgrade the chargers to 120kW, and mine and another red which was just picked up by its owners last week. Interesting thing was, all three were differerent reds. only the newest red is still available to be ordered.

1000 in the US market. Each market gets its own Sigs.

During my factory tour last month on the day we picked up our MC Red Tesla, we saw several European Signature series cars in Signature Red that were being readied for shipping. I too was a little disappointed in not being able to get that gorgeous Signature Red, but having the MC red leaves no regrets. It's gorgeous in its own right.

I'm sad. I was too late to get the Signature red and too early to get the MC red or parking sensors. Though I did get to drive a Sig #460 as a loaner?? How did that happen ? Did someone return it? Toyed with the idea of buying it but it was not a performance model and it had the pano which I can't stand.

I realize that we all have different color taste; however, I have never been able to understand those who came on line in support of Tesla and took a Signature in any other color than Signature Red. Had quite a talk with another Signature owner at the Chicago Service Center and he had his in MC red. Four the few hours there he must have lamented not getting the Signature Red hundreds of times, while ogling ours and exclaiming about how rich and deep the color is. (Sig.1185)

Buy it in Europe if you want a Signature.

Truly a shame they used that color on the sig. By that, I mean its a shame because it was gorgeous, and we all would have loved one.

@jbunn - but that is really all the Signatures got (along with white leather) in exchange for putting more money down for a much riskier proposition. They need to have something just for them.

Too bad there wasn't also a Sig Black and Sig White! ;)

I actually had a model S reservation for what was to be about #1900 in the reg production schedule. There was no red available to buyers at the time, so I plunked down an additional $35K and moved up to be able to get the Sig red w/white interior and cannot imagine having any other color! I would be miffed if the Model S was offered in sig red in the future. I paid extra for the exclusivity they offered and would demand a refund if this color came back on the market again. (sig 213)

Only new models and variants. E.g., I'd expect "cabriolet Sigs" to appear.
