New Electric Automobile Association (EAA) chapter formed in Eastern Washington

I just discovered this recently. There is a new chapter of the EAA ( called the Mid-Columbia Electric Vehicle Association located in Tri-Cities, WA. They will be holding their second meeting at the Richland Public Library on Wednesday, August 28. Dr. Michael Kintner-Meyer will be giving a presentation on electric vehicles and the smart grid. It is open to the public.

Electric Vehicles: Three good reasons to buy an EV

Michael Kintner-Meyer, Energy & Environment Directorate, will provide a general overview of electric vehicles and plug-in hybrid EVs, and discuss the key differences between them and gasoline vehicles related to performance, cost and environmental impacts in a presentation Aug. 28 as part of the Community Science & Technology Seminar Series. Michael will present national and global perspectives about EV transportation, as well as how the growing electric vehicle fleet could support the integration of renewable energy resources with smart EV charging strategies.
The Laboratory’s test vehicle will be on-hand for demonstrations on smart charging strategies for a smarter power grid. Hosted by the Mid-Columbia Electric Vehicle Association, the presentation is open to the public.
