Web Site Post Purchase

Is anything interesting supposed to happen after you buy your Tesla? Access to car info? Access to owner forums?

For me, the web site appears the same (for the most part). It's still prompting me to purchase services even though I purchased it already. No more "Your order is confirmed". And no access to any owner forums.

Keep checking back. Periodically throughout the process a few things will change. First a delivery button will
Show up and you will need to fill out a quick questionaire. Also after a
Couple of weeks they replace your reservation number with your vin.

You should have access to the regional forums now and you can also create and view threads that are visible only to owners and reservation holders. Beyond that, there isn't anything that interesting.

I really hope that they are working on connected data features for the car. I would love to be able to see stats and whatnot about my car.

The MyTesla Garage display is not reliable about status. My MS85 is currently on the assembly line but status is "your order has been confirmed."

It is still trying to get me to sign up for service even though I did so a month ago.

Most annoyingly, one cannot access the forms that you have already filled out, so one can see what answers were given.

I still have access to the exact same forums as before I took delivery. No regional ones or anything like that.

Call your sales representative--they should be able to give you a mytesla log in. Once you login the private threads and regional forums become available.

I have a mytesla login and I have my car but I don't see where the private forums are accessed.

The private forum threads are marked with a key symbol. If you can see that symbol, you have access. If you can't see the key symbol on any threads, then contact Tesla.

You can select private (don't remember how as I haven't done it in a long time) when you post your own thread.

Right now I can see two private threads on the first page of new posts.

I have the same issue. But I'm not sure who to contact at Tesla...?

Call Matthew Aldride at 650-681-5093. He did it for me in a day.

@wcalvin - how do you know that your car is on the assembly line?

What are the possible statuses in My Garage and what's the typical progression?

Shortly after I finalized my order, my status changed to something like, "The factory is currently building your Model S." Then a few days later, when my Tesla contact told me the car was still at the beginning of the production process, the status changed to "Your Model S order has been confirmed." And that's what my status still says weeks later, even though my car is currently on a truck from California to Chicago, where I will pick it up in 2 days, 4 hours, 56 minutes, and 4 seconds.

So the bottom line is that the status tells you almost nothing.

You won't know if your car is on the assembly line.
