Has anyone charged their S @ Aria?
I am told they have had Model S there on a "3 prong" but valet could not tell me type of charger station...
Will I need an adapter?
Still Grinning ;-)
Always bring your adapters. Aria does have a charging station and it has been used by many MS's. Cosmo next door also has charging stations. If you have any problems, contact me, I have a supercharger at my house. Enjoy the city!
Don-there is a group of about a dozen S owners (and owners to be) in Las Vegas. If you'd like to join us, let me know and I'll shoot you an email.
@bnwdon Is the charger at Aria a J1772? Or NEMA 10-40? Thanks.
Don, you may have a HPWC, but you do NOT have a Supercharger (440V) at home.
Wups, I meant NEMA 15-40.
No, you probably meant NEMA 14-50.
Sigh. You are right. I've very dyslexic this week.
Just got back from Vegas. The City Center charger (J1772, 20 mi/hr) is at the Crystals valet (don't think Aria has a separate charger). At Crystals, the valet made me leave my key there, so if you're the type that's skittish about leaving your key, charge at one of the 2 Mandalay chargers instead. Cosmopolitan next door has a Roadster charger, and they don't have a Model S adapter, so that's not an option for most people.
One future problem I see is that as more Model S's are out there, it will be increasingly difficult to conveniently charge in Vegas. There was a Model S parked at one of the Venetian chargers, that was hogging the charger at least a full day after it was done charging.
I just called the Aria valet. Robby said he'd look. I called back 10 minutes later and he said it was a "three pronged outlet" but not a normal 110V three pronged plug. From that I assume it was a NEMA 10-30 dryer plug. Heading their soon, will check it out to make sure.
