Charging problems? It's the charge cable...

My car was struggling to charge at my house. It would not stay at the 40A setting, and would stop charging intermittently and the cable would blink red. The car dash message read: "Charging cable failure. Please check owners manual." So, I called the Denver service guys, and Dan immediately said, "It's corrosion in the NEMA connection on your cable. Some of the cables manufactured earlier are doing this." I swung by the service center and they gave me a new cable. So, anyone experiencing charging hiccups should look into this. You can see the corrosion, like battery acid, in the NEMA plugs.

To their credit, Tesla has been very good about replacing defective adapters and UMCs.
