Energy use discrepancy

Yesterday I noticed that when my dashboard "trips" meter showed 30 miles driven since last charge it also showed 265 Wh/m average energy use, but the 17" screen "energy" graph set on past 30 miles average showed a lower 255 Wh/m average energy use. I am thinking the they should have shown the same energy use. What am I missing here??

I've noticed the same thing. Very peculiar.

Im just going to guess.

Does one average for the life of the vehicle, and the other only averaged the 30 miles of your last use?

I've never reset the trip meters, but the reading for average of last 30 miles and average since last charge should in principle be the same if the number of miles since last charge is 30.00. However, the distance, even though both is supposedly 30 miles, could be enough different to make the reported consumption use also different. For example if there had been hard acceleration or deceleration during the last several hundred yards, that got included in one reading and not the other. If I can recall correctly, the reading from the energy display on the dash is just for 30 miles, and the average since last charge is 30.x. They might not start and stop at exactly the same times. I'm not sure it could give a discrepancy of 10 Wh/mile though.
Did you have your display showing Wh/mile average since charging continuously on while driving?

Yes, while driving I observed both indicators at 30 miles but with the energy use variance mentioned earlier.

Reading is better than guessing. Last 30 mi specified for both.

I've noticed the same, and have thought that maybe the trip odometer unitizes all energy use, including the A/C, while the graph is only the electric motor usage.
