Feature request for steering wheel mounted "next station" / song-skip media buttons

Picked up my 60kwh car last week and love it! I have a feature request for some future update. If there's a better place for suggestions like this, please let me know!

On the left hand side of the steering wheel are two buttons to change the radio station and/or skip to the next music track. When listening to the radio, these buttons scan to the next available station on the dial. I would like the option (configurable) to have these buttons choose my next PRESET station instead.

Seems like an easy software fix. At least I hope so....

I agree! If you're a radio listener, this is a key gap. It would improve safety if you don't have to be reaching for the touch panel when driving.

It should scan the full list of favorites in the "brows" menu, not just the limited 5 on the buttons.

+1
tap once for next station. hold for a few seconds for next preset or favorite in browse mode

@ minewman - There is a list of suggested software enhancements here: http://www.teslamotors.com/forum/forums/prioritized-software-enhancement.... The enhancement you describe is item e, and currently prioritized as number 13.

Out Toyota does this. If you tap it it goes to next preset. if you hold it longer an a tap it scans for the next station.
Need a source select on wheel as well.

This should definitely be optimized for what you're most likely to want to do.

I want to go to my next programmed station, well, every day.

I scan for the next station on the dial very, very rarely.

I totally agree those calling for a button on the steering wheel to get your favorite pre-sets.

One other thing would be great. My jeep has lines on the back camera image which show where your wheels will go. It makes parking incredibly easy. I assume this would be possible.

I'm really confused by why these default to scanning? I mean seriously why in the world would we need scanning to be on the steering wheel?

I don't remember my Range Rover sport doing this, and my moms Honda fit does't do it this way.

The Jeep Wrangler Unlimited that I have now defaults to seeking for the two outside buttons, but at least with the Jeep it has a middle button to toggle through presets. Once you get to the last programmed reset you click scan, and click the button to bring it back to the beginning. It's basically a workaround I use for a ridiculous implementation.

I never bothered checking for this when I test drove the MS. It's by far the most pushed button I use in a car with a touch screen. I can't say I pay much attention to the radio when test driving a car, and I'm glad someone mentioned this.

I just don't get the logic of push to seek. If I'm scanning its because I want to find stations to add to presets and I don't need a steering wheel control for this.

Rod and Barbara, your link doesn't work for me. I get an access denied error. Do you have another link to this enhancements list? Thanks!

I have never been able to get access either.

@ minewman & fredtowers - The name of the tread is the Prioritized Software Enhancement List. It is a Private thread, which means only Tesla owners and reservation holders have access to it. If you have a reservation and/or have received your Tesla and get an access denied error, contact the Ownership Experience team at ownership@teslamotors.com to get your on line account updated.
