Green MS question

THIS close to putting our online order in, so we went to the Rockville Service Center to look at colors (the rep that we took the test drive with recommended it). The lot was full of black, blue, grey and white cars, but no green and none coming in any time soon.

Question for anyone that's received a green car - are you happy with the color? We were told it's a dark green, bordering on black, but I'm not sure how much to trust the paint sample in the store/gallery/online. Do you think it's a fair match?

We live in the northern Virginia area if there's anyone close that wouldn't mind letting us take a look.

Thanks for your feedback.

I love the green. One of the major reasons I got the MS. Its a dark green and often people think its black but it really stands out in the sun. I have the grey 21s and love the look. I've never seen the stores or the paint samples so I can't give you the comparison.

Originally my first choice was the green, but upon seeing it on test drive cars at the Amped Event in Palo Alto, it was TOO DARK for my personal taste.

I wanted more of a "British Racing Green," or Emerald Green, but to me the Tesla green was...sorry for those who have and like this choice....rather closer to ....Olive Drab green.

I got the multi-coat Red instead and couldn't be happier.

...there are no bad colors....

Yea if the red is your style the MS green is way too sedate. I just love dark greens so its perfect.

Model S would look great in any color

The green is different colors depending on the lighting, going from black, grey or green. That was what drew my wife and I to it.

Initially my choice was grey but , I also attended the get amped event, saw all 10 colors in different lighting. I stayed so long people were starting to wonder. Bottom line, the first and last color that really stood out in all light levels was the Green. I agree with all of the preceeding positive comments about the green but would like to make a few more. For my eye the combination of silver and grey trim & the black nose cone also worked best with the green. The only other colors that came close were white and black. Lastly, there is a certain level of understated beauty with the green. The reason I mention this is the car does not scream out for potentially unwanted attention. If someone happens to look directly at the car it definitely catches the eye, but it is not a color the grabs attention BEFORE the car comes into sight. This makes me feel more secure about parking / driving the car anywhere & everywhere.

Bottom line, it is a matter of personal preference. I will be at the National Plug in day, event on sept 29 in Washington DC, I invite you to look at my green Model S, with tan interior if you can wait 1 week. Personally I suggest you wait, you are about to spend a lot of money and I hope no one has remorse regarding the color of their Model S

I went with the green and felt unsure since I had not seen a I had not seen an actual green Model S. After five months with the car I must say that I find it to be wonderful color. Sometimes very dark, almost black, or grey, can also be a sparkling metallic racing green, and on some cloudy days becomes a rich, deep, and enchanting emerald. I appreciate it more every day.

Not sure about Rockville, but if you meant Rocklin, you are probably in Northern or Central CA. We have a green MS and live in Mariposa, but are currently in the Auburn area for a few days. If you want to see our MS, respond accordingly.

The comments have certainly been helpful and intriguing.

It's kind of funny because I really don't remember being this determined about the choice of color in any of our other vehicle purchases. Not sure if it's the EV experience, the price or something else that's causing it.

shs - Thanks but I'm definitely and east coaster.
My5bAby - Are you there all day? Appreciate the invite; reorganizing the weekend schedule now to attend. And you are specifically referencing the DC event and not one of the other regional gatherings, correct?
