Has anyone received a second HPWC?

I planned to have an HPWC at one location and a 50AMP outlet (14-50 or 6-50) at a second location. I have the HPWC installed and I really like it for a couple of reasons. First, I don't have to plug and unplug the UMC. Second, I like the way it looks. Third, it's nice (though not crucial) to be able to charge quickly in some cases. I'm thinking of splurging and getting a second HPWC instead of installing an outlet. I know the units are in short supply and wonder whether anyone else has received more than one.

I haven't received my first one, so I sure hope you don't get a second one before I get mine :).

I seem to remember a thread from someone who had two. They reported an issue with the frequency for opening the charge port. If one was plugged into the first car and you press the second one to open the port on the second car the first car gets disconnected as if it thinks you are trying to disconnect it.

It's cheaper to get a second UMC and keep that plugged in to your NEMA 14-50 at your secondary location. I only have the NEMA 14-50 at my home and keep the UMC plugged in all the time, since I never need it to charge anywhere outside the home. It's a very minimal draw when not actively charging, only enought to light the LED. I only unplug it, if I need to take it with me for a road trip.

There is no indication of the length of the backorder.

I received my HPWC today (got my car on 1/6), so hopefully they are starting to catch up with demand. Now to get an electrician out to install it...

@rtesta - IIRC, that was actually two Model S's, each with their own UMC, and the issue was that both charge ports would open when you pressed the button.

@smd - that's fine, until you unexpectedly need to go somewhere and regret not having it with you. I definitely wanted an HPWC or a second UMC so I could keep the UMC in the car at all times and not have to pack/unpack it, and the HPWC is worth the incremental cost to me to be able to recover the charge used commuting quickly when I want to head out of town after I get home from work -- an 1.5 hours vs 3 hours before I can leave is a big difference.

Since we also have a LEAF and only 100A to the garage, I will typically charge at 50A but I want the option to charge faster when I need it.

My HPWC was installed today and is working fine, so I am now ok with you getting a second one :).

Has anyone received the cable management mount yet? There was a note in the box that said it would be available in February.

No, and mine that just showed up Saturday didn't have it (and had the same note).

BTW, the electricians were fighting over who got to come out and wire up my HPWC so they could see the car :).
