Meaning of Status Change

I just checked on the status of my order and it has changed to read “Your order has been submitted to the Tesla factory” and a new red button labeled “Services Sign Up” has appeared. I am wondering - what does this mean? Can I know expect delivery within a week, a month or what?

The 'Services Sign Up' button is new for everyone. In order for the warranty to remain valid, you need to have the car serviced (checked) once every year or 12000 miles. They had not figured out the pricing/legal of the services until a few days ago, when the button became available.

The 'submitted' message I have not seen. I think it will change to "The Tesla factory is building your Model S" very soon (a couple weeks?).

The status used to read "The Tesla factory is building your Model S" and now reads "Your order has been submitted to the Tesla factory"
If your explanation is correct, I still have a bit more waiting to do...
Anyone else know anything?

"The Tesla factory is building your Model S" is a message I got when my finalization paperwork was confirmed and complete last August.

My car was not built until November.

I believe this message signals that you deposit is no longer refundable.

As EcLectric predicted, my status just changed to read "The Tesla factory is building your Model S". Time to wait some more...
Thanks for the feedback

Mine changed back and forth ending on "factory building" after the service button showed up. I called Tesla and they said the "status" area has default language and the "submitted" and "building" messages simy mean you've finalized and have nothing to do with when the car will be built, delivered, etc. The only way to get any real time updates is to call Tesla.

Ugh. Sorry for spelling mistakes. My iPhone "auto correct".
