My experience with Tesla Model S - P85+

Hi All,

Picked up my Tesla Model S yesterday at the Rockville Service center in Maryland - (P85+, metallic blue). Needless to say, I am like a kid in a candy store. I thought I would post some brief experiences for the next month. I had to park the car out in the driveway overnight for the next few days due to some repair work in the garage.

Saturday morning noticed on my Tesla app that the mileage reading was slowly declining (maybe a mile an hour - not very sure). So I connected it to a 110 outlet, and the charging started.

Then playing around with the app, noticed that the inside temp was at 110 F - Woooh! The app let me crack the roof and set the temp. So slowly the temp declined over the next hour to about 81 F (still declining as a write this). Of course now the mileage is not budging.

From experience, will get to temp faster (and take less energy) if you turn on the A/C but don't crack the roof.

One of the unique feelings of the Model S (electric cars in general?) is the "sound of silence" as you step on the accelerator and start to move stealthily 0 to 10. This is so unlike a conventional car and oh so beautiful! It may be exhilarating to go from 0 to 60 but there is beauty in moving from 0 to 10.

Yet to tax the Model S yet.

I have been driving my red MS60 like a bat out of h@ll since picking it up two weeks ago. have a blast with your new toy but do it safely.

Depending on the interior temp, it could be best to vent the roof for a little while then close it. AC takes some time for the coils to cool and the hottest air is at the roof line. Cool air in hot air out, to a point.

Anybody know why sometimes the app displays the interior temp and sometimes there is no temp displayed?

@Koz - will keep an eye on it. So far so good.
