Natick Town Meeting OK's car sales zoning change

That's interesting. I wonder why Tesla decided to build a store in Natick in the first place since they had an explicit zoning law forbidding ALL car dealers. At any rate, Tesla was able to convince the council that they were different and merited an exemption.

Tesla isn't a car dealer, at least that's the reason 37 states that require a dealer wont let Tesla sell cars. Seams like a perfect match. Obviously they don't want car lots in Natick, Tesla has galleries not car lots.

Seems they will have up to 4 cars for display and test drives, but not service. Bet the demos are sold off and turn over fast.

shop,

"I wonder why Tesla decided to build a store in Natick in the first place since they had an explicit zoning law forbidding ALL car dealers."

I looked at your question and thought it just may answer itself. If you're going to do something, make it big and do it right. Now Tesla is the only game in town and it sets a good precedent for the remainder of the state. "If we can play nice here, shouldn't you let us play in your town?"

+1 Lola. George B. knows what he is doing.

They can't have cars or demos in Texas galleries nor can they sell new or demos out of the Galleries.

@Dallas - it seems that is all they do in the gallery here:
1. Show a car
2. Demos (test drives)
3. Sell (have you enter your order on a computer)

What do they do in the TX galleries?
