New Model S Reservation holder

Finally did it! I've placed my reservation for a Model S. Test driving the Roadster was the final straw...these cars are amazing. Oh, and I got a jacket to go with my reservation...

Wow that is 75 US reservations in 10 days, that used to be our monthly rate, not its going to be our weekly rate, Go Model S.
And welcome cblum.

Congrats. That was actually the prototype they had in Chicago but the Alpha will probably be shown soon.

I have always told myself never to buy the first production year of a new model. However, I have just made a reservation for a model S solely by reading about it on the internet. I feel strongly that we need to change to electric cars and that I need to support the company that has pioneered the change. My reservation number is 3139 of the general production. Now I want to look into building solar panels on my garage to charge the car. I don't know whether to start that or wait until the car is delivered.

4197?

@han170;
I suggest waiting. Tech is advancing so fast you'll probably get far more bang (Watts) for your buck in a couple of years.

I got my reservation number yesterday. It's EU P 427.
I would like to get a Signature edition, but I'm not willing to pay 30000 Euros upfront when price and specs are unknown.

Here is an updated collection of the numbers posted by people, so take it with a grain of salt.

US
S 208 (December 7, 2010)
P 3,139 (February 25, 2011)
R 218 (January 2011)

Canada
P 138 (February 24, 2011)
R 10 (December 2010)

Europe/Asia
S 55 (January 18, 2011)
P 427 (February 26, 2011)

Australia
P 17 (January 21, 2011)

S = Signature Series (Model S)
P = General Production (Model S)
R = Roadster

Bolebo: You still have tons of time to decide on a Signature edition. I think there are supposed to be 1,000 for the European market (or is it every market outside the US) so could change your mind once they announce the specs.

I find is strange that the US has almost 8 times the production reservations that the Europe/Asia has. Glad there is so much demand in the US though.

I live here in Florida and put the deposit down on the Model S last Saturday and have a number to share...it's P-3102. It's going to be a long 2 years. They projected late 2012 or early 2013 on the phone.

I just plunked down my deposit yesterday. I'm US P 3146. It is going to be exciting to see the car develop and know I'll be one of the early owners.

I was confirmed reservation on february 2nd P#138 Canada!

44 reservations since last Saturday. That's amazing. The pace is really picking up now.

Since I (belgian guy) made my reservation on october 7 2010 and I've received nummer S#349, it seems to me that Europeans are more sceptical or less informed about the Tesla S.
Due to recent augmentation of oil prices, maybe they'll discover the Tesla S(olution). It's a pity that we in Europe have to wait until the beginning of 2013, because I think that once people see the car by their own eyes they will be more interessted.

The difference between US and other continents is indeed quite interesting. But the fact that it is an American company already means a lot :-)
But in nearly every discussion I hear about electric cars, Tesla IS mentioned so people are starting to know the company name. I'm sure, once the Model S becomes official, sales in Europe will get better :)

BTW Patrick, around 40 fellow Belgians have ordered a Model S, which is already a lot imo.

Finally took the plunge: Model S ordered today, and I'm happy to be part of the "club." I haven't received my number yet, but from the thread it sounds like I should be anticipating a late Q1 '13 delivery (?). My S4 should be able to hold out another two years.

Michigan - I think your count on Signatures is off. I reserved in January and was initially given 195, but a reordering of the list resulted in me dropping to 92. This could be because there were duplications with the Roadster friends and family reservations, but I'm not sure. Hope that helps...

US Total 3572
Canada 148
Euro/Asia 482
Ausi 17

Grand total 4219

Anyone know how many Reservations Tesla was hoping to achieve? I would bet we have exceeded their expectations.

Charged_Up -

Thanks for the intel. I'm assuming you ordered in January 2011, right? So, your current Signature number is S-92 after the reordering?

Charged_Up: I reserved the Signature model in May 2009. Started at 126 and moved up recently to 114. Are you in the US? If you're in the US, I'm wondering how you jumped over 100 spots ahead of people who reserved before you. Thanks.

I think I understand it. People who are Roadster owners get moved up to a separate Signature list from what I understand. It's though to go on the Signature list then to see exactly how many reservations there are then.

I meant it's tough to figure out the Signature list then...etc

This forum needs an edit function.

Hey, you're right! Our Signature reservation has moved up to #32! (Reserved on Feb 28, 2009). Yes, we have a roadster. Yes, we reserved before the actual launch, because we were unable to go to the launch.

Greg.

michigan - yes, early jan 2011.

dsm363 - no idea how they reordered things but yes, I am in US and what I read somewhere is that there are two separate lists - the regular signature list and a "friends and family/roadster owner" list. I think what happened is that the people who were owners/friends got pushed to a new list, freeing up spots on the "regular" signature list - but I really don't know for sure.

Regards...

@Chelee, Where in Florida? I'm in the Tampa area.

Charged_Up: Thanks. That makes sense. You think they'd want to explain that to the people putting the deposits down so there isn't any confusion. Oh well. Can't wait to finally see the Model S beta whenever that comes out.

Just got my signature reservation confirmed today. I am number 119 in signature reservation list.

S = Signature Series (Model S)

R = Roadster
* = Several members noted Tesla has two Signature Series lists: 1) a "friends/family and Roadster owner" list and 2) a general Signature Series list. As of December 7, 2010, the non-Friends/Family and Roadster Owner list was 208. It is unclear if "friends/family and current Roadster owners" are, in fact, a separate list or the if they are first in the Signature Series waiting list.

Excuse the typos, should read: "It remains unclear if "friends/family and current Roadster owners" are, in fact, a separate list or if friends/family/roadster owners are the first of a single Signature Series waiting list."
