Finally did it! I've placed my reservation for a Model S. Test driving the Roadster was the final straw...these cars are amazing. Oh, and I got a jacket to go with my reservation...

Hey "michiganmodels" , time to update your list.
I just got an E-Mail from Dan Myggen at Tesla. My Canadian Model S Signature upgrade is confirmed. I am # 55, so obviously there are 55 cars so far, as of 7:30pm EST.
You can take of the asterisk :)
As well, we were all given another E-Mail on Tues Mar 22nd at 12 noon stating that.....
"We are happy to announce the availability of a Canadian Model S Signature Series. The first 200 Model S vehicles produced for Canada will now be Signature Series vehicles. Model S production will begin mid-2012 and production of Canadian vehicles will begin approximately three months later."
So we are at least 55 cars into that magic number of 200.
I'm Canada S65 now instead of P123.

michiganmodels,
Just FYI, I was Canadian R10, and am now S10, so I suspect there aren't any Canadian R's left!
Obviously you can't just add up the numbers to find out how many reservations there are.
Douglas3 - Thanks for the heads up. I agree one should not simply add up the numbers (hence the "grain of salt" comment). I (and I beleive others) find it insightful to see the numbers assigned to reservation holders to have some idea of demand (as rough as it may be).

I was considering upgrading to a Sig largely to bump up in the delivery priority, but with the 300 battery taking precedence in delivery orders, I'm wondering it'd be worth while. There are, presumably, a good many reservation holders that'll wait for the 160 or 230 battery. Of course, it depends on what cool goodies the Sig offers too.
ckessel - do you plan on purchasing/leasing a 300 mile general production Model S? If so, you should reserve the Signature series.
If, I) you are aware of the pricing/production order announcement (which it appears you are), II) the $35,000 differential is not a concern, III) you are going to select a 300 mile Model S anyway,I do not see any reason to remain a 300 mile Model S general production reservation holder.
Well I was P120 something for Canada (P125? or was it p138? - somewhere in this range). Now that I switched to a Signature Edition I am S69.

Hi. I just made a reservation after seeing the model s in Los Angeles. My confirmation number 3446. It was confirmed on 3/25
It's 606 since I reserved mine on 1/5. That's about 7.5 a day. At that rate, that'll be another 2000+ over the course of the year.

Hong Kong started accepting general reservations for Model S on March 23rd.
A couple of days later I heard I was R1 (reserved pretty much immediately at launch on March 23rd).
Deliveries are scheduled to start in the spring/summer of 2013. Here in Hong Kong we get zero first registration tax benefit until spring 2014 (which makes the care very competitive for its class, as most other premium cars pay close to 100% first registration tax).
Markwj - did you reserve a Model S or a Roadster? I ask for clarification whether it is R1 as in Roadster reservation 1 or "reservation 1" Model S. Do you know if Tesla has sold any Roadsters in China?

Michiganmodels, I reserved a Model S and own a roadster. It is #1 reservation for Model S in roadster owners/friends/family list in Hong Kong.
Tesla have sold 15+ roadsters so far in Hong Kong (they opened shop here late last year). Not sure about China sales, but I do know that Tesla have no official channel there. They do have an official channel in Hong. Kong.
We are at 4646 total reservations world wide. That is amazing. Anyone want to bet any wagers on how many reservations will be made before the first Sig roles off the line?
I will say 6700 before the first S roles out of production. Any takers?
There appears to have been over 300 reservations in the last month. I would guess there will be over 9000 reservations by the time the first is delivered.
Reservation rates will probably increase once the betas are out so people could see / drive them. It will coincide with the advertising push by Tesla. Options and pricing will be definitive and probably a release date. For many people seeing / touching is believing, there were too many "wonders" that turned out to be just pie in the sky in the past !
This will surely validate Tesla's choice to invest a bit more in the production line to be able to produce 20k cars / year wit one shift, meaning that if demand is crushing, they could rapidly increase it to 60k / year :)
My TSLA shares and leaps will probably allow me at that point to order the S I want, preferably the sports version :D
msiano17 - 218 of the reservations are Roadster reservations. I'm going to remove the Roadster reservations on the next update bacause 1) this is Model S thread 2) Roadsters are in production. However, your point and question are both vaild. I speculate Tesla will meet its target of 7,000 Model S in 2012, which is 6-9 months of sales for 2012. If the Model S comes close to what everyone is anticipating, 2013 will be a monster year for Tesla (i.e., Model S sales and Model X reservations).
218 of the reservations are Roadster reservations. I'm going to remove the Roadster reservations on the next update
Wait a second. It was my understanding that all of these are reservations for the Model S, just three(!) different queues (per geographic region). There is the regular production queue P, the signature queue S, and the Roadster queue R. The latter are still reservations for the Model S, not for the Roadster, but since they already own Roadster (or are friends/family of a Roadster owner), they get a special treat and receive their reserved Model S before anybody else.
Volker EU#P1 - It's not exactly clear. I believe the Roadster/Friends/Family list you referenced applies to Signature series only. Take a look at the February 27th posts on this thread.
I can leave the Roadster numbers on this list, however, according to this thread, Roadster owners were given Signature numbers (so, leaving them on would be duplicative). A point of clarity would be if there are two Hong Kong P#1. Markwj is a Roadster owner and was assigned Hong Kong P#1. If another member is assigned Hong Kong P#1, it would be safe to believe there is a separate Roadster/Friends/Family list and Markwj has priority (being a Roadster owner) over the 2nd theoretical #1 Hong Kong reservation holder. Again, this is speculation, but since we know current Roadster owners have received Model S reservation numbers (regardless if they move up in line or have priority), I believe there is only two lists a Signature list and general production list.
Again, I could be misinterpreting this. So, please share your thoughts.
