Rear View mirror OFF

I test drove on Saturday. Anyone else have difficulty seeing out the rear view mirror. I found that I could not see the horizon and the angle was off. Anyone else have a similar experience! This could be an easy fix. Hope those test driving in the next rounds can post some comments on this. I really want to revisit this.

I could see with no problem. I thought the rear view mirror might be a little small, and I hate auto-dimming mirrors. But hopfully I can turn that feature off.

I am wondering if it has to do with my height ? I'm 6'3". I would bet there were enough drivers over 6 that might have noticed

Could some of the test drivers in coming LA event please comment on the mirror and left to right pitch. Thanks

Yes .. I had that complaint just sitting in the Model S ..

Good news: Rear camera operates while underway.

Does the rear camera have accurate cross-hairs for targeting enemies with your missiles? Or maybe they have gone with the smart system where you just touch the target on the screen and it locks on and tracks (probably the upgraded HD version).

Sudre_, using the Volken mind-meld feature in the Model S Tech package, you just think it and the car is obliterated.

The rear camera is a bubble view. Not too good for scanning the distance. Might be useful in traffic, but I doubt I would have my screen taken up with it. I would say the steering wheel had a nice adjustment to it, would like to see the ability to lower the mirror as well and get a direct back view

Aleksandyr. We test drive on Sunday. Please be specific what you mean by "pitch"- left to right. I assume it is about visibility in the corners.

Well first I am referring to the mirror. Second, there are some other posts about the car pitching under full acceleration. I didn't notice this. Hoping this is not an issue. Wondering if it has to do with torque of the motor under full acceleration. Have fun!

Here is a dedicated thread discussing the "pitching issue":
http://www.teslamotors.com/forum/forums/leftright-pitching-under-full-th...

I have a friend with old muscle car with two-gear automatic transmission (both directions). He described passing other cars like this (loosely translated): First you need to change lane, then put the pedal down, wait for a second before transmission realizes that "hey this guy wants to accelerate" and changes gear down, look at the bonnet and figure out where the road was. Stop accelerating after you have passed the car. Now that you see the road again it is safe to return to your lane".

I don't think Model S has that kind of pitching issue :-)

BTW, that transmission had both gears in reverse too. They tested it, and it changed second gear on after about 55mph. Crazy car.

@Volker.Berlin, that's "private" forum topic, no access to non-reserves.

Is that an inter-species hybid of Volker and Vulcan? VB, what have you been up to?

Please. Check your mirrors in LA

Alex;
Yes, the odds that you're driving in someone else's blind spot at any given time is about 75%, I'd guess!

Phat fingers there Brian? ;)

No, just a diagnosis of the viewing angles in LA's clogged traffic.
