Software recalls now sound so antiquated...

Ford is asking their hybrid owners to bring their cars in to a dealership to implement a software fix, and such a trivial one at that.

They might as well say "your floppy disk is in the mail". Yikes!

Been there, done that. On the sending side... Ah, the good old days!

That is what I thought too. My first thought was "can't they do that OTA" been then I remembered its Ford.

Pretty sad that a software update still has to be taken to a dealer. But its pretty good for those Ford model owners that Ford actually decided to do something about those real world mpg figures.

Still, they should have at least made it so that maybe you could download an update to a USB stick and then stick it in your car to update it.

Instead of floppies in the mail, USB sticks?
