Solar Installation Information

My wife told me that she wants to look into getting solar panels, before I order a Model S. So with that being said, I'm trying to learn as much as I can, so I can make an educated purchase.

I made a phone call to Solar City, but they're not in my city, yet.

Does anyone know where I can get a primer of solar energy, and purchasing solar panels. Preferably, the information won't be from a sales team.

Thanks!

If you can do your own installation a fellow I deal with is Dan Bilbo, DIY Solar or Mane Solar. . This guy is great, You can buy good panels for a dollar a watt delivered. He also has Enphase inverters for $135 each plus the connecting cable will run you $24 to $29 per unit. The Enphase inverter is the only way to go. They are easy to install (one for each panel), very efficient, report wattage produced of each panel to the web. If you have a panet fail or covered it does not effect the rest of the system.
If you can't do your own install I am sure a local contractor could, Dan may be able to help here also.

I greatly appreciate it. I'll get in contact with him, although, I'm on the other side of the country.

If something comes with instructions, I believe that I'll be able to make it work. I'll just make sure that I line my house with mattresses, just in case.
