Is anyone following this??? Absolutely amazing pr... I think reservations might see a bump this week... be sure to thank Broder...
Brodergate!
Thinking of more pr...tesla may need a rolling number on the tesla website showing gallons of gas saved and dollars saved of MS owners... or a mock travel site listing prices to LA, LV, SF, Boston, DC,etc as free, wallets optional...
... Show a typical gas station sign (at a supercharging point)with a price for regular as "free forever"
I think everyone made it to Milford. One person had 9 miles left. I think the others had over 23 miles left.
RT @goodwinb99: @TeslaRoadTrip home in Boston. Crazy snow, bad slushy highways, traffic, winds and hilly terrain. But still home! http://t.co/5FCmWI0L
Tesla (and owners) rock!
They all made it, no problem. Did u the video of the super charge station Broder said he drove around the parking lot .6 mile to find?
Unbelievable. The thing practically had neon lights

I'll never partake in NY Times again

I had the 9 miles left at Milford, CT- but that's not the whole story....!
We had 6 cars to charge! I actually arrived with 28 miles. We set up 4 cars to charge (2 each on each side N/S of I95) and used the other 2 cars (one of which was mine) to go to dinner a few miles away. When we finished, we drove back and I got to charge my car. At that point, it was then at 9 miles remaining....
Actually got up to 200 rated in only 45 minutes!

Aaron - good info - thats very relevant... good job and thank you!!
great tjob, you guys showed how Tesla owners do it the right way.
question about the self twitter from the car, what is it exactly?
and .i also wonder if any news outfits picked that up as a story?

Many online sites picked up on our trip.... Autobloggreen, Jalopnik, AllThingsD, San Jose Mercury News and others... It was quite a media storm! It was so great to meet people on the road and at the superchargers that said they were following our twitter feed!
The car's tweets were done my George (PureAmps) on the Tesla Motors Club forums... They've developed an API to access car telemetry using the interface the iPhone & Android phone apps use. He then set up an hourly tweet from 3 of our cars. That added a whole new dimension to the twitter feed and could not have imagined not having that for everyone to monitor!

Well done! Broder's "hit piece" seems to have blown up in his face. Ha!
From temperate (mostly) California, a huge hats-off to you. I am a career journalist and a proud Model S owner. I was incensed at the carelessness of Broder's reporting; he's either an idiot or a man with an agenda - there are no other explanations. My wife and I followed and cheered your exploits, and marveled at how much social media has changed the landscape. Tesla, you road-trippers and the rest of us did not have to hector the Times for a retraction which would not have come. You recreated the trip to expose the lie, then published for all to see. And the "real" story is getting far more play than the original. Bravo!

Done like dinner.
This should really toast him some more.

The History Channel ran a wondeful series called 'The Men Who Built America'. I think of what Ford went through to get his car built (he was fighting against a group that owned a patent to a very generic car which if he had to pay royalties to, Ford motor would have never existed). I wonder if our great granchildren will be watching a History Channel documentary about Elon, Tesla and the group of supporters who debunked the false NYT reporting and saved the company! (ok maybe a little bit dramatic - but great job and thanks to the TMC team!)
In any case, the firestorm of advertising and media spotlight that is shining brightly on the Model S and Tesla is a HUGE value out for $$ in for Tesla.
I'm not so sure that Elon stirred the pot "on purpose" knowing or hoping that this media frenzy would in fact happen. You don't get to be a multi billionaire by not knowing how to game the system.
" Just Sayin' "
No, I'm sure Elon naively thought the Grey Lady would accept a positive human interest story rather than a failure-ripoff-crisis one. The more fool he.
