Is there a service needed reminder indicator light?

I'm about to purchase a service plan, and noticed the agreement state you need to obtain service within 1000 miles or 30 days of service being due - and service is supposed to be performed every 12.5k or 1 year interval.

Being that I'm highly likely to overlook these milestones, I was wondering if the Tesla MS will display a "Service required" indicator/reminder at the correct dates/mileage?

I looked through the manual at all the indicators and they don't show this or mention it. It seems likely they would have gotten this, but wanted to confirm.

Does anyone know - probably someone has 12.5k miles already? :)

Been discussed on another thread. No.

Or rather, not yet. It would be easy for them to add a service reminder pop up in a future software release.

The reminder would have to be pretty drastic. Owners are blissed-out, and get the shakes at the thought of losing the car a few days for service. Typical addict reaction. >:P

There will be no excuse for a car this sophisticated NOT to remind the owner of this. I do not believe Tesla will allow this issue to go unaddressed.

@Brian H - you better believe it, which is why I opted for ranger service! No rental ICE car for me!

Is it too much to expect the driver to have a brain in his or her head?

No, but what's in it? "You can't make anything foolproof, because fools are so ingenious!"

Or to put it anther way, "if you make something idiot proof, someone will just make a better idiot."
