What was included prior to new pricing structure?

I locked in my order prior to the August price increase, but for a December delivery. I was trying to see how the new pricing would be different, but I was not able to locate what was previously included in my packages. Is this information archived anywhere? The packages I selected under the old structure:

Performance 85
Pano roof
Tech package
Sound studio package
Rear facing seats
Paint armor
Twin chargers

It seems to me that what was included in the tech package has changed (and the price decreased from $3,750 to $3,500) but I cannot find where the list of included items was published.

Thanks for the help and sorry if I missed someplace obvious in my searches.

None of your configured options changed under the new regime except for price, you would have no reason to switch to the new option structure.

Was fog lights and convenience lighting part of the tech package right before the change? I will likely be calling a rep to get details on whats included in the pre-a la carte Tech Package I will be receiving once all the dust settles.

Until recently, the Tech package included fog lights, Xenon headlights and HD backup camera. The Specs page now says the Xenon headlights and HD backup camera are standard. Fog lights are now a separate $500 option. Daytime running lights used to be standard, and are now part of the Tech package. My non-Tech was delivered December 23 and has all the convenience lighting except the cornering lights. That's all now migrated to the Tech package. There's a major increase in $$$ for the Sound studio package and it's not clear what's changed except the Dolby ProLogic 7.1 appears to be gone. It never worked right anyway so its deletion is no biggie. I'm sure there are other things, but that's what readily comes to mind when looking at the OP's configuration.

The Tech Package used to contain (last month):

  • GPS navigation system with onboard maps and free map updates for seven years
  • Automatic keyless entry
  • High definition back-up camera
  • Xenon headlights
  • LED cornering lights
  • Ground lighting under door handles
  • Electrochromatic side mirrors
  • Power rear liftgate
  • GPS-enabled Homelink system
  • Memory seats

Items now standard

  • High definition back-up camera
  • Xenon headlights

New items in the Tech Package:

  • Daytime LED Running Lights

The Model S always had daytime LED running lights, didn't it? Isn't that the lighted strip around the outside of the headlamp assembly? Pictured here:

@ nickjhowe

Do you know if daytime LED running lights were part of the tech package prior to the most recent change?

I can't find any reference to running lights on the options page back going back through the beginning of June.

They have been on the 'Specs' page as at least as far back is January, so assume they were standard. They were removed from the Specs page last night.

@ ATX,

I happened to do a screen grab back in late July and here for the technology package it only said "Xenon headlights"

The Daytime LED Running Lights have been standard since day one. If you have the Tech package, you also got a vertical strip of LED Running Lights on the outside front edge of the fog light assembly. Don't know what current deliveries are getting.

Thanks for everyone's time to post and help clarify. It would be nice to know if the fog lights and all of those cool accessory lights now listed were included in my original configuration as part of either the performance 85 package or the tech package, but neither is really that important to me--just would be nice.

Fog lights were not part of the tech package before the recent price/option changes.

@LionPowered,

Thanks for the info. Do you know if they were previously part of the performance 85 package?

CF spoiler, CF decor, performance seat, air suspension and alcantara head liner used to be included in the performance package aer now seperate option items. You got a pretty good deal.

Front door armrests also leather in previous performance, so new Nappa option only adds rear door armrests plus dash. New CF spoiler design that is now $1,500 has already been shipping on production vehicles. Primacy tires have been shipping on all 19" P85 orders. Currently shipping P85s have all the lights in new lighting package except for two "puddle lights" in passenger row. Alcantara headliner should have been included in previous P85s.

@ampedrealtor

After all of the announcements this weekend I was curious about the new lighting package so I stopped by the local design center today to check it out. I wanted to know what to expect when my pre 8/3 tech package arrives and as i'd hoped, the rear doors had one puddle light (bottom of the door frame) on each as well as the lights on the door handles so unless they added a second light under each rear door I believe the new lighting is identical to the old. One of the design specialists mentioned something about the new lighting package having an LED strip just under the pocket on the front doors but I suspect that may have been a mistake.

I have a p85+ delivered 6/1. So on my car only the front doors have leather? The dash is stitched like in the new picture, so i assumed it was leather. Is it not? And the front and rear doors look the same. Interesting.

@ jnb, do you also have the alcantara headliner? If Tesla is including leather in the P85 on the front door armrests, they should be a very soft, supple leather like the seats. If they aren't, I would contact your delivery specialist and/or service center for clarification.

@both@tamayo-sar... the Fog Lights were part of the Tech Package until Jan/Feb 2013. My car is a Dec 2012 build and has fog lights.
