Chicago Auto Show

As a model S owner who loves their car in the Windy City, I was wondering why Tesla is not listed as showing at the Chicago Auto Show. It seems with the MT COTY and other honors, as well as actual deliveries underway, this would be a perfect opportunity. I wonder if, since the event is run by the auto dealers, they have excluded Tesla as a protest to their sales model, which would be unfortunate, since the STate of Illinois has welcomed them with open arms. Any thoughts?

It would be nice to get an official TM reply and perspective.

I was hoping to see the X at the Chicago Auto show this weekend. But no mention of Tesla anywhere on their website. I'm pretty disappointed. On a side note, I found it odd that the Volt is listed as an EV, not a plug-in hybrid.

In St. Louis a couple of S owners took their car to the auto show and the organizers were more than happy to put the cars in. Maybe other owners in other cities should try the same thing. Tesla probably won't be in auto shows until the need to advertise arrives.

More trouble than it's worth? TM shows at very few venues. Sometimes volunteer owners kludge together a display.

@ Neech;

It seems we "the public" are being brow beaten by an ill informed print media trying to convince us that Prius, Volt, Fusion Energi, etc, are EV's as opposed to what they REALLY are. "Plug in Hybrids".

If you're in the Chicago area just go to the Oak Brook store www.teslamotors.com/oakbrook ... and save the Chicago Car Show admission toward your Tesla!

Hey guys. A volt is an "ended-range" electric vehicle and not "Plug in Hybrid". (It just happens to carry its gas generator to extend its range). The reason that the Volt is not a Hybrid is simple...if you remove the spark plugs it will still move. I am getting over 50 miles per charge which takes care of 95% of my driving! I can't wait to go 100% electric with the Model S, but long distance trips are a little more difficult.
