Paris store, closed?

A very good friend who is an expat and has been living in Vietnam for the past few years is moving to Paris in a couple of months. He didn't have a clue about Tesla and I managed to get him very excited about the Model S. Alas, on his last trip to Paris he tried to look for the Tesla store and he told me that it had closed. Are they backing off on the date of launch for the Model S in France?

Does enyone know for how long will the store be closed? Will there be a new store in the near future? or will Tesla show their cars on an appointment only basis?

Unfortunately my friend had to go back to Vietnam without having experienced the Model S. I'm sure once he tries the car out he will want to get one...

This page says it is shown by appointment only. http://www.teslamotors.com/paris

You can't just "drop in" any more. Maybe sales are slow in France.

Or maybe they didn't want to waste time operating a display for non buyers.

I did my car deal from beginning to end sitting at home. The car delivered to my front door. The most painless car purchase ever. Was as easy as buying a book from Amazon.

But what about the people that want a hands on experience and do not want to go through the whole process of setting an appointments because of time constraints, like my friend. He was just in Paris for a few days, mostly for work and to make preparations for his move to the city. It would've been really convenient for him to drop by the store and look at the car, maybe even get a test drive.

Had he liked the experience, which I'm sure he would have, he would've probably ordered it online to have it delivered just a month or two after his arrival to Paris.

Now, he'll have to wait until he comes back to settle down, find time to set an appointment during the whole settling down process and wait three or four months more than what he would have waited had he been able to test drive the car and placed his order months before.

Just saying...

(forgot the question mark) But what about the people that want a hands on experience and do not want to go through the whole process of setting an appointments because of time constraints, like my friend?

I visited the LaJolla CA store after I ordered my car and found it difficult to look at the car because the store was filled with curious shoppers. Appointments may be a better way until the cars are more available and the public has had a chance to see them on the road.

The store felt more like a state fair display.
