Clicking/popping sound when turning

It is tough to describe (clicking/popping is the best I can do), but I've started hearing some noises when my Model S turns fairly sharply. I took it into service and they couldn't find anything, so I was wondering if anyone else has heard this?

It is fairly faint, but definitely noticeable.

When I had something similar on a previous car, it was the upper ball joint being worn. I would be surprised if it were worn so quickly, but that might be a good place to check more closely.

You'll need to take it into service. Mine did the same thing and I believe they had to make some adjustments in the front end. I think it was the rack and pinion they had to adjust but could be wrong.

Same as Liz G except that Service Center fixed pro-actively on mine when I took it in for tire rotation. Mine wasn't that noticeable but service tech heard it on test drive after rotation and they fixed it.

I have noticed this as well. It's a soft clicking sound that occurs especially when I am backing up with the brake pedal depressed and turn the steering wheel sharply. It hasn't bothered me enough to take the car in yet. I'll probably have them take a look at it the next time the car goes in for another problem.

Do you have 21" tires? It could be the wheels slightly hitting the inside of the wheel well. Mine does this, but it's not faint at all for me. It's very loud and noticeable.

Just a thought

This started for me after about 5k. Service center looked at it & listened. I will be bringing it in to the service center after I return from vacation for diagnostics. Mine is both front end & steering wheel on sharp turns.

Service knows about this. Mine is in right now for something else and they told me they would make the adjustment to take care of the click sound. Didn't sound like a big deal.
