Now off to make some choices... P779

@ mischa. What key?

@The Froq: good point. But let's face it: sensor, transponder or whatever sounds quite strange. Matchbox car would be great. But who would get that one? Going to the car wash: please give me your matchbox car? Wouldn't work... ;)

@wdazew: The problem is that you don't "have" a 40 until after you config. That's what invitation to config means, that Tesla is now asking you to choose what type of car you want. Prior to that you can play around with options and battery type all you want.

It goes strictly in reservation order.

@MichaS: congrats !! you will be among the first ones in Europe.
Is your delivery window really june-july ?
Earlier they mentioned EU-deliverys would start in april.

@Martijn: Copied from my countersigned contract:

JUN, 2013 - JUL, 2013

The tesla sales rep said today while I was completing the ordering process that production for Europe starts in March. Assuming that shipping (by ship) to the Netherlands takes 6 to 8 weeks, another week to get it from there to Switzerland and another one for the local paper work and registration, June might be a good guess. I still hope for May... ;)

I rough it at 28:10 between them, so 100/28.167 = 3.55 res./hr. Can't be more precise because mclary's time is approximate. Put the other way round, that's 0:16:54 between reservations.

Got my invitation to finalize for P16615 yesterday morning (1/23) and submitted about 5pm. I digitally signed the contract a few hours ago for a red, 60kw, air suspension, supercharger-capable Model S. It'll be great if it arrives within the advertised Apr-May delivery window.

AnTeslapation - the jittery feeling you get when you realize your turn to configure could really be any day now (I'm P17295, I reserved 12/30 in DC, right after my test-drive around 1:30pm) and you're having second thoughts about how ready you are to finalize.

This forum has helped with every decision point so far, so I'm only agonizing on whether or not the gray interior will work in the pearl white given that the interior ceiling in the design studio appears to be beige.

Just got the finalize button & email, and finalized my P85! Now waiting for pre-MVPA.
US P #16743

I received an invitation to configure resevation #16029 on January 23rd and e-signed the agreement on the 24th. Estimate delivery Feb-Mar.

I reserved on New Year's Eve & just got my invitation to configure.
If I don't configure by Feb 26th, I have to pay 2013 prices. Thought I had more time. Seems strangely fast, doesn't it? US #17468.

Exactly on schedule. When Tesla announced the new pricing at the end of November they indicated in an email to reservation holders that all reservations made under the old pricing would be asked to configure by Jan 31st.

I reserved on January 3rd. I just received my invitation to configure today with a deadline of February 27th. P#17,955...Rep says that my 60kWh would be delivered April-May if I finalized soon. Wow!

@defmonk - what changes after the deadline? Since you reserved after the price increase, the price won't change, right? Does the deadline just affect your estimated delivery date?

Wow defmonk, that was fast for you. Good for you. I am 520 cars more to go in line and hoping for that invite soon.

After the deadline, according to the rep and the correspondence, I would be subject to the $2,500 price increase. However, the build tool still shows the increased price. I pointed this out to the rep. She didn't seem to think it was a problem and that the lower price would still apply.

reserved Dec. 31st to avoid the price increase and got my time to build email today. P17,816

Got my email today to configure 18,175. Too soon. May push back or get the X.

@defmonk: If you reserved on January 3rd, didn't you have the increased price to begin with? Tesla stated you needed to reserve by December 31st to get the old prices.

@gregv64: I was pleasantly surprised by the text of my configure e-mail. It clearly states that the 2012 price applies, provided the order is finalized before 2/27. It could be that there is a grace period or, perhaps, the cancelation rates have increased as folks who impetuously placed reservations to beat the price increases are getting cold feet. Either way, I'm happy to get an unanticipated benefit.

FInalized today!! Nowegian EU sig 52
Sign Red, Pano. Tan Matte Obeeche. 19 inch weels

Anyone invited to configure today?

Very smooth process with docu sign . About 4 hrs from the finalize button appeared until the garage page said "in production"

screen dumps here

in the last minute changed from 21 to 19 inch weels reading about all the problems with the big wheels on bad roads etc

now the wasting time until June/July and a summer holiday here in Norway driving our new Tesla across the mountains to the fjords on the west coast, taking our time and charge where we find it suitable.

i am a notorious dyslectic - waiting time not waisting

And, in fact, you said wasting not waisting. I can't even imagine what waisting means, actually. ;)

If you can head home, toe the line, foot the bill, and nose around, why can't you waist time?

+1 Douglas R

Because then everything goes to (your) pot.

Looks like the flurry of emails to finalize in last few days has stopped or slowed down. My RN is 18,750 and was really hoping to get caught in this wave of invites. Oh well!

Yes, things do seem to have slowed down. I have #18,515 and am hoping to get an invite any day now. We shall see.
