Please use this forum topic to share your ideas for new website features or to let Tesla know if you find a bug. Thanks!
Good to have the discussion groups back!!
Thanks very much!
Yes ! Thanks for bringing it back. :-)
A note or two: the column "Last Reply" doesn't always seem to be accurate. Case in point: thread "ipo-tesla" shows my reply from 6/29/10 but column "Last Reply" is claimed to have been made 24 weeks 2 days ago by Klaus.
Can we get a "preview" button ?
I'm liking the whole sleek layout as well
Also, is there a way to delete a post? I double posted since I didn't see the brief popup saying the post would be reviewed so I reposted the same message. Thanks.
I love watching my Tesla stock go up! Your missing a web page! The one about the 4WD Tesla that will beat the pants off the Jeep JK, Toyota FJ, and Range Rover Defender 90 while being green and almost silent. Since Fiat squashed Jeeps EV program the field is wide open.
The "folder read" flag doesn't work reliably at the top level. A couple of mine are permanently stuck on.
Therefore two suggestions:
1. A button to mark all topics read, so you can reset it.
2. Uh... make it work properly...

Good to see this new website is improving.
Is this new forum closed to Roadster Owners only?
Earl
Yeah, I'm having that problem ("folder read" flag) too. So "2. Uh" above gets my vote.
Also ... very annoying is the hrs/days/weeks ago time stamping. It would be much more intuitive if the "CREATED" and "Last Reply" columns listed the absolute time stamps in normal mm/dd/yy hh:mm format. This would further help the issue of "folder read" because I might remember time of my last visit, but am too "slow" to compute the (ever changing) relative time "ago". (Hope this can be fixed :-) )
While I am at it ;-)
Can we make attachments ? (jpg, pdf)
Will the stuff come back to insert nicely formatted links, etc ? (Including smileys.)
Can the feature of marking a reply "PRIVATE" within a non-private thread be implemented ? (And create a "stub" for the private reply with only date/time, not name, and of course, not the content. Registered Owners will still be able to see it.)
Spell checking while typing ? (or, in conjunction with a pre-view button)
Anyway ... thanks for the resurrection of the forum :-)
I really like the site...but having to wait for someone to approve a forum post is not a good thing...
Make a mirror of the website in Europe, would make loading for those users much faster!
It seems i am unable to create new forum topics: I get http error 500 every time in any of the 3 main forums.
Also, I posted a reply in one of the forum topics 3 days ago and it still doesnt show. Are replies going through some approval process before being published?
I have a request for the website.
Whereas there is a red square indicating where the unread messages are, that still requires me to navigate around to find the threads with unread messages. Other forums have a link (which is essentially a search) in which it shows only the threads with unread messages, so I can focus on those.
Thanks
New teslamotors.com web looks great, however when I tried to add a new forum topic for model S, I've got a blank screen at this link:
https://www.teslamotors.com/node/add/forum/153
No errors or warnings... Is it a bug or there are some additional settings/permissions? Please let me know...
Thank you
I am having the same problem as other people who cannot post forum topics, got the same result as Vlad.
Also, having to submit every post for admin/mod approval is really not a very good way to run a webforum. I'm just saying, how many forums have you been to that require admin/mod approval for every post?
Is there a way to track down my posts, to see what people replied to them?
Also unable to create a new topic.
Same results as Vlad. Note that I was able to post a new topic shortly after the forum stated, so shouldn't be a browser issue.
I use firefox on a Mac to browse, and I'm having the problem that the top level of the forum always says "11 new" and "1 new" for the top two subjects, independent of what is or isn't actually new. The dates and times of recent messages seem to update correctly though.
At lower levels, the sorting by recent replies doesn't work right either, although at least the "new" seems to be correct.
Greg.
Using IE8. The behaviour ggr is seeing is exactly (almost) what I am seeing. I also have the "11 new", but not the "1 new" on the top level.
Still would like the "weeks/days/hours" ago changed to an absolute time of last post. It's otherwise too hard to compute whether there are new posts since you last visited. Of course, if the "new" posts was fixed, that would not be so much of a problem.
I am also getting a red-square sometimes when there are NO new posts on some sub-levels.
How about a "New Posts since Last visit" button ? ( I think someone else already asked for this ? )
Here's a simple glitch.
1. Open http://www.teslamotors.com and log in
2. Go browse somewhere else
3. Return to http://www.teslamotors.com (main page)
4. At top right it shows Contact | Log In; there is no
My Tesla button unless you go to some other page
5. Click on Log In - you get "You are not authorized to
access this page".
Should do: show the My Tesla button on the main page.
If you must have a white background I would prefer black text instead of the gray that is presently in use. I find the current text colour more difficult to read because it doesn't contrast enough with the background. It may not be as stylish, but the most comfortable combination for me is what you get in your average paperback book (off-white background with black text).

Hear, hear! Stylishness is frequently a pain in the eyes and much lower down.
Hi All, the ability to post new discussion topics should be back in action.
Hi,
Would like to say the website is great! However just a minor problem, sometimes the home page http://www.teslamotors.com will have the pics loading halfway and the whole page is all messed up. not sure if it's due to IE8, but this makes it very troublesome (for me at least) because i'll have to refer to history pages to navigate myself through the website.
Also, I've sent an email to enquire and reserve a Model S, but it's been 2 weeks and I've havent gotten a reply. Is there any way I can check if my email went through? Or if it did, any idea on how to check the progress of the reservation?
Thanks.

Is this "Flea" from the Red Hot Chili Peppers?
Thanks! Appreciate change to absolute dates (as requested) ... makes keeping track much easier. Also, marking of "new post" feature seems (so far) to now be working as one would expect.
No, not yet reliable. When I refreshed the page this morning (Aug 23) three categories showed dates in them newer than when I last checked, but all three categories (General, Tesla Roadster, Tesla Model S) did NOT have the red square, and also did not have the "# new" marking. At least the absolute dates helped me track down those categories easily (thanks again).
Then when I opened a new tab for each category it correctly identfied the new posts (red squares and "# new").
But in "General" there was some inconsistency with sorting by date. This could be explained if the three sub-categories (Website Feedback, Welcome to TMF, Moderation Guidelines) are "sticky". Would help if the are marked with an extra symbol if that's the case.
(Hope this helps.) :-)
Another bug: On main screen it said "2 new" since my 10:13am post above for the "General" category. But there were THREE red squares and posts since 10:13 in "General". The "talking about emissions" new thread did not have any replies yet, and was probably not being counted. "1 new" on each of two other threads marked with a red square. Details, details, I know. But still annoying, and probably symptomatic of other more deeply seated bugs.
Forum sorting by latest reply doesn't work.
In "viewing topics in general"
I have order:
August 23, 2010 - 8:13pm
August 16, 2010 - 10:41pm
August 24, 2010 - 2:03am
n/a
etc.
Nice improvements! Not perfect, but MUCH better.
Two nits:
1. If you have NEW topics on a thread, and the thread goes to more than one page, then the "NEW" disappears of the new entries before you can get to them. Simply going to the next page purges them, apparently. Catch-22.
2. On a related note, on long threads, it would be nice to be able to go directly to the end. Otherwise you have to open the first page, scroll waaaay down to the bottom, and then hit the Last button.

Good afternoon. I would like to sell cars Tesla in Russia, where I can get complete information about the content and details of the machine and all of it?...
