4.5 Update rolling out

Perhaps this is a better way to discuss the topic of software updates, rather than bumping an unfortunately titled thread about the effect of an incomplete install of 4.4 on one owner's car.

So, how is 4.5 going? I'm still waiting. I'm on 4.4 and have had no problems with my car of any kind, ever. I love it. It just keeps improving.

I just updated to ver 4.5 tonight. So far so good!

How did you get the new version. Do you get an email update or something similar pop up?

They're actually rolling this version out based on owner height.

I'm standing on my tippy toes...

Lol.. TikiMan must be real tall!

Shortest first.

Woo hoo...shortest first is a great plan! I'm just sayin'....

No their rolling it out for those who need it most get it last.

I love the Scheduled charging update in 4.4 but it hosed my monitor. My car does not know when its day or night time. In the morning my monitor will be in night mode (not my dash) and it will only switch to day mode if I zoom out or as I drive off the map during my commute (picture your 17" screen with half night and half day, or better yet having a night screen in the middle surrounded by day map.

Don't ask for photos since I don't have a photo sharing website to post to.

Randomized, and corrected for hair colour.

The map needs to refresh to change from the cached display to a current one. So if you turned the car off at night, it will have that map showing when it wakes up. Just pinch it, zoom in or out and it should load a daytime map, assuming you are out of your garage and in the light. It's not really a problem and is easily resolved with just a touch. I don't think this is unique to 4.4. I could be wrong, but I think it was the same in 4.3, which is the version my car was delivered with, but 4.4 came along pretty quick so my memory could be flawed on this point but I still don't feel it rises to the level of a problem.

The maps not refreshing to day or night mode with the rest of the UI is annoying indeed. My trick is to toggle the traffic button on and off or vice verse. That way you don't disturb the current maps you want to look at

Took delivery in San Diego on 5/10/13 (Red P85) with 4.4. Received 4.5 update last week. Window display came on notifying me update will take place at 3:30 am. I had the option to change the time. Display indicated update would take 2 hours and car must be off during duration of update. Update includes all SC locations.
(FYI: I am 6ft ;-)

5'-7" here and I got the update icon this morning... Must be some shorty owners if I was next.

I got an update last night on my 40, which was delivered on Monday. Oddly though the car came with 4.5 and this is also 4.5. Hmmmm

I got 4.5 last Monday, then I got another 4.5 Wednesday last week. I am 5' 8".

Despite my hopes re: shortness, it seems that the priority is those who got the flawed 4.5 once before and are now receiving the new one to correct it, plus a few lucky folks who are getting it anew.

I was on 4.3 until last night when I received the 4.5 update. I am 6' 2" and love the new defrost mode.

I would like to see day mode/night mode decoupled from automatic switching and have auto dimming tied to the mode, so I could force it to night mode all the time but have the display dim as it got darker toward night, so it behaves more like a real auto-dimming display.

Morning range is less than it was last week, but this has already been covered. I might set the charge to start later to see if that helps.

It must be shortest first... I am 6'4" and still on 4.4. :) It is working perfectly though, and the additions in 4.5 don't excite me. So, I am not in a rush to update.

What version of 4.5 are you all getting? 1.33.44?

Damn you all...now I really need to go downstairs and see if I have an update notice! :-)

Is Vampire loss fixed?

@noshird, vampire losses aren't being addressed until later in the summer; 4.5 does allow for shore power draw, but this will have limited if any impact on vampire losses. That announcement will almost certainly be more than just a release note...

riceuguy;
Report shortly.

I hope this fixes the delayed wiper timing. It was raining today, I went to get in the car, handles present, open door, start to sit and then get sprayed by the delay wiper. Damn, the wiper should not move until the door is shut or I put foot on brake.

As a general note when listing/comparing firmware versions please include the version number of the
release i.e. 1.33.44 etc and not just the higher level category (3.4,3.5)

What's in this besides SC locations?

Velo1;
Don't leave it on auto when you get out next time. Mebbe that'll learn ya.

My car was delivered a week ago with v4.5 (1.33.38). Since then, I have had two updates... both still v4.5 (1.33.43 and 1.33.44). As far as I can tell, the release notes have stayed the same and can be found here (http://www.teslamotorsclub.com/showthread.php/16915-Firmware-4-5/page6?p...). I assume they were just slight bug issues, but that's just a guess.

Definitely not shortest first. At 5', I'm likely to be one of the shortest if not THE shortest MS driver/ owner. v4.4 (1.31.11) since delivery 4/26/13. No real issues so far, so not sure if I should be looking forward to updates or not!

It would be nice to be notified that our cars had an update available on our phones. It would be even better if we could trigger the update to install from the phone apps!
