Horn beeped all the way from San Francisco to LA

It's NOT what you're thinking. My son is in San Francisco. Me and my Tesla are here in LA. I gave him my iApp login and password,
and he was able to beep my horn from his phone in San Francisco. Nice parlor trick!

I realize that on the long list of "must haves" this is pretty trivial, but I thought it was a great indicator of things to come. I can only imagine where the functionality of these apps are headed. For example: How about being able to access the back up camera image and see what's around your car from anywhere in the world? I'm very excited that the Tesla "software centric" vehicle is starting to come alive.

At least in the Android app, it disables honking the horn and flashing lights while the car is moving.

In this case, the car was parked and off. I noticed that those functions are disabled when in motion.

A guest account could allow the use of the app for location only. I hope that Tesla Motors will consider this in the future. We certainly don't need someone else honking the horn remotely while the vehicle is parked.

or perhaps turning the heat on full blast, and then you come back to your vehicle several hours later and it is nice and warm, but the battery is dead!

Horn and lights are disabled when the car is moving (i.e., via GPS readings), or when it is being driven? For example, if the car were being trucked somewhere, would the horn and light features of the app work?
