Last Signature worldwide

For those of us opting for the 2013 red, we have been told that they can't start using that color until they are completely done with Signature models and can swap colors in one bay. So, selfishly, I am curious to know if anyone has any idea how many Signatures were ordered outside the US and how many are left to be produced.

@BrianH: I agree that TM knows how many signature models they will offer in each geographic location/region/country. But signature models don't have to be painted with signature red paint. So they don't know how many need to be painted red. Or am I wrong, and all signature models must be red?

I guess. AFAIK they haven't announced a sig limit outside of north america, and even if they have a limit I think it's far from certain UK will sell out. But more importantly, even if they know the number of sigs, they certainly don't know the number of red sigs (which is the point here). People are asking what happens to all the sig red shells when all the UK sig holders order black. You seem to assume that # of sigs = # of red sigs, unless I'm completely missing what you're saying.

@Brian H, there is no need to be upset.

Tesla still have RHD Signature Reservations available. I know that because I made one a week ago.

The fact is that the Signature Reservations do not prescribe whether they will be red or not. This is done on order finalisation.

The Signature limit for RHD vehicles have been set at 500. So its even more exclusive than the LHD Signature models :P

Well we all seem to have been given the impression that the MC Red will begin production in March, so TM has some sort of plan. I think I will make contact at the end of this month to see if I can determine if they are sticking with that schedule. Maybe they will let slip their master plan?

Jeez louise. I apologize. I've already forgotten the Sigs aren't all Red. Let the Nerf bat battering begin. {6-/

Brian H - thanks for the correction. I think we're all on the same page now. No nerf battering.

Well, I tried emailing TM to get an update on the 2013 red and whether they remain on schedule for starting next month. I know that email was very low priority for them and so am not too surprised that I got no response. Does anybody have any information about the production status of European signatures?

Euro Sigs have definitely been finalizing recently. I think I saw one report here of an estimated delivery of June. I would think multicoat Red production should start by end of March, unless they say otherwise before then.

Since RHD is still a twinkle in the eye, it cannot be said that all sigs have been completed. In Australia we will only start getting our cars in 2014. Mind you, there is no guarantee that we will be offered the USA sig Red. Who says that a different colour palette will not be offered for a different market? The option list may also be totally different by then as well as the method of ordering - such as offering the battery on a lease basis (mainly to circumvent some of our particularly onerous taxes to reduce the otherwise exorbitant cost to us here in Australia). I have, in fact emailed George on this very point, and received a reply from him, although not particularly specific. At least the seed has been planted.
Ultimately if the preproduce too many reds they can always use them as demonstrators.Or sneak them in to markets other than North America.

Good points, dborn. They could also outsource painting a few tens of Sig Red bodies when the RHD Sigs are asked to finalize, if they don't have enough pre-painted bodies on hand.
