Rear headrests, New design?

I am getting ready to pull the trigger on my purchase of a P85+ and noticed the rear headrests in the design studio that appear to be large, square and adjustable. When I test drove the vehicle I noticed the rear headrests were actually strangely small and not adjustable.

Have the headrests been changed?

I think they were adjustable with the prototype. Look at this picture (Febr 2012) for example:

If that is the case, does somebody know why they changed the design?

(But you can find a lot more picture with this kind of headrests.)

I read that because people don't often actually adjust them, they are at the lowest level in most accidents and actually cause more injuries than the fixed mid-height ones.

Brian, maybe so but the ones on the TD car were TINY and lined up to the very base of my head. Curious what you guys have noticed.

As long as they don't line up with your neck and snap your head off!

Well if i were sitting in the back seat with the current non adjustable headrests i am certain i would have serious brain damage or die. They are mini headrests that are far too low. They provide no coverage for an average to tall adult. They are find for children. The photo above should show TESLA that they need to have the adjustable headrests ASAP. It is a safety issue failing to make a proper rear seat. Hondas and Toyotas have more substantial headrests than TESLA

The proper/adequate position for a head rest is that it should hit just at the base of your skull. Any higher than that just isn't necessary.

You are right, but the rear seat headrests currently equipped with the TESLA model s do not offer such protection. When people say the roof is designed to restrain your head is ridiculous! This is not possible nor would you want it to protect your head!

Adjustable headrests should be default, at least in the back seat!

They cause injury, because people ignore or remove them.
