HAS ANYONE HAD AFTERMARKET PARKING SENSORS INSTALLED IN THEIR MODEL S YET?
We are all here. No need to yell.
I just had to.
Rather serious punishment for leaving the Caps lock on. Here is the answer to your question:
This is fantastic and looks extremely well done!
Does anybody know how it looks inside? Outside looks like a factory sensors.
Inside looks like a driver listening to beeping noises. There is nothing to see inside except and invisible switch placed under the dash.
It would be nice to have them connected to the screen and see it visually as well.
snowmass, thank you for your reply. i find the punishment for all caps humorous........
What would be nice is proper visual guidelines on the camera that bend like rubber bands as you backup and turn the wheel.
I believe the hardware in the Model S can support this with a firmware update but it's unclear if it is actually being worked on.
After driving my Model S for 3 months, I have decided I don't need parking sensors, the rear camera works perfect for backing into area's like a garage and the side mirrors do a decent job too.
I can kinda judge the front better, I think I am still apprehensive about parallel parking my Model S however and oddly haven't had to yet.
Parallel parking is a lost art that I, for one, take great pride in be a master. Come on folks, it ain't that hard and you are cheating yourself out of the thrill and excitement that can be had out when totally nailing a parking job!
