Onbeperkte km garantie

The Tesla Model S drive unit warranty has been increased to match that of the battery pack. That means the 85 kWh Model S, our most popular model by far, now has an 8 year, infinite mile warranty on both the battery pack and drive unit. There is also no limit on the number of owners during the warranty period.

Moreover, the warranty extension will apply retroactively to all Model S vehicles ever produced. In hindsight, this should have been our policy from the beginning of the Model S program. If we truly believe that electric motors are fundamentally more reliable than gasoline engines, with far fewer moving parts and no oily residue or combustion byproducts to gum up the works, then our warranty policy should reflect that.

To investors in Tesla, I must acknowledge that this will have a moderately negative effect on Tesla earnings in the short term, as our warranty reserves will necessarily have to increase above current levels. This is amplified by the fact that we are doing so retroactively, not just for new customers. However, by doing the right thing for Tesla vehicle owners at this early stage of our company, I am confident that it will work out well in the long term.

It is first and foremost thing that is essential to a customer on electronic thing warranty from an organization that has strong market reputation so that they can really pay your claims. After admiring Tesla Motors and Elon Musk for a long time we decided to order a Model S with dual drive. This admiration was in part based on Tesla’s, and Elon Musk’s, reputations for , integrity and great customer service.

Imagine our surprise when the day after our order was confirmed we heard that Tesla had decided to place costs over customer service by saying it would not honor its commitments to us and other customers by discontinuing the production of the brown and green colors. The proper way to handle this manufacturing decision would be to honor the promises made to customers prior to the manufacturing decision. Instead Tesla chose to behave like an ordinary company that places cost ahead of quality.

We are still excited about owning a Tesla with its cutting edge technology, but we have to wonder if Management will continue to make decisions that do not honor its promise.

I hope to hear from Senior Management on the rationale behind not honoring commitments.

I think that same kind of thinking should go into revising the warranty for the HPWC. I purchased it with the car mobile apps. and as far as I'm concerned it should be considered part and parcel of the actual car. It has been and will continue to be my primary means of charging the vehicle and for the car to have an 8 year warranty (when the extended plan is purchased) just makes the 1 year warranty of the charger seem ridiculous. I purchased that charger from the manufacturer for that car specifically, download clash of clansno other car can use it. I would think that it was designed and manufactured to function properly for as long as one owns the car.
it is theoretically possible that one might have to replace/repair the charger once a year for as long as one owns the car.
