Can I change my reservation for Model S/X, when later this year the next variant (station wagon?) is revealed by Tesla Motors?

Suppose that I have a reservation for a Tesla Model S or a Tesla Model X, and I have not yet finalised and configured the concerning EV. That means that the initial deposit of 4,000 Euro can still be refunded.

And somewhere later this year (August?) Tesla Motors reveal their next variant, which I hope will be the station wagon. Will I then have the choise to change my reservation? Or will I have to cancel my first reservation for the Tesla Model S/X and receive my initial deposit of 4,000 Euro back. So that after that I will have to make a new reservation for this new Tesla station wagon variant EV?

If it is possible to change my reservation, that would mean that I can keep my initial reservation number. Is that correct, or am I making a wrong assumption here?

If I will have to cancel my initial reservation for the Tesla Model S/X, and make a new reservation for the new Tesla station wagon variant EV, then I think I will get a new reservation number (which will be an other reservation number). Is that correct, or am I making a wrong assumption here?

Is there anyone who can tell me how this will work?

The experience in the past has been that people have been able to migrate their choice (note sp.) from S to X. But it depends on how far along you are; after finalization, I think the deposit is forfeit.

In the first sentece of my first post I have mentioned: "Suppose that I have a reservation for a Tesla Model S or a Tesla Model X, and I have not yet finalised and configured the concerning EV. That means that the initial deposit of 4,000 Euro can still be refunded."

So, it is possible to migrate your choice. If others have done it, why shouldn't I be allowed to do the same?

But if it is possible to change my reservation (migrate my choice) , that would mean that I can keep my initial reservation number. Is that correct, or am I making a wrong assumption here?

I think you can move your deposit from S to X, so I see no reason why you wouldn't be able to do the same with another model, as long as the status of your initial deposit is still refundable.
I don't think you would keep the same reservation number - you would go to the back of the line in the new line-up you entered. Just a guess, but I don't see why you would move ahead of others who reserved a specific model before you did.

Yes, that's correct. And that's what I actually assumed already in my first post. But going to the back of the line in the new line-up of the new model, is fine with me. As long as I have chosen the EV that suits me best. Don't you think?

The number would not be relevant to the new product. But TM would possibly retain your place in line, more or less. I seem to recall some accommodation like that.

Well, I think I shall have to wait till the moment is there to finalize and configure my EV, 3 months before they will start manufacturing my EV, anyhow.

I have spoken to a representative of Tesla Motors, and he has confirmed that it is possible to change your reservation. Your current reservation number will be deleted, and you will get a new reservation number for the EV of your latest choice, but you will have to go to the back of the line, just like anyone else. Just I expected that it would be.

I am glad you are asking this question. We are torn between Model S and Model X. As I was talking to the Tesla rep over the phone yesterday I asked him if they would be coming out with a station wagon (since that's really what we want). He said no. I guess the station wagon is not official, but would be great to get more detail when they'll be releasing a new model...

I just don't see them doing a wagon variant of the S before X or the Gen 3.
