Islanding with your Model S

Wondering about the S back feeding power to the grid/your home.

Here's what I mean, our house has a 6 Kw utility tied PV array. When the power goes out the array disconnects. If I have my 2 S's in the garage I have would have 145KWH of power available to for back up power for the house, or, smart grid, FPL could tap me for some additional power at a sweet premium. In other words wondering if the S is capable of bidirectional power for a future application such as the above?

Tesla + Solar City + smart grid = back up power/ power sell back

Another ace?

For what it's worth, the Nissan is making this possible with the LEAF:

There are other sources available via a web search, this is just the first that came up for me today.

These -> There, and I want Edit Feature!

Volker, you and Brian H should be beta testers for the forum edit feature! Where you would be tasked to fix any broken links in your posts whereas Brian were obliged to correct all spelling errors in the remaining 62% of all messages.

In my posts, there are no broken links! :-P

Ya, permitting edits for a few minutes to catch typoz would be great. Most sites don't permit (long-)retrospective edits because it plays Hob with discussions.

As soon as there is some other posting made edit could disappear, so only the person that has last posted could edit his message. Maybe add "status" in the message (in edit) if last poster takes it under editing so that you could see that it is changing before posting your message.

Typing your own new message should be possible even when someone else takes his message to edit.

Timo;
Sounds logical. The problem arises especially in fast-moving controversial threads, of course.

I asked one of the Tesla reps about vehicle to grid power back when I made my reservation in January 2012, and I was told that the charger/inverter is designed to work only in one direction and wouldn't support using the car as a power source. (I mention the date in case anyone may have newer information to offer.)
